This is what I can remember.
1 Horde of 28 Witchelves pushing the COB
1 unit of 20 repeater crossbowmen with flame banner serving as wizard bunker
3 repeater bolt throwers
30 executioners
20 black guard with LD banner to hold the flank
2 units of 5 dark riders
2 units of 10 warlocks IF...
Why not consider this.
Vampire Lord
LvL 1 Caster or More
Heavy Armor
Great Weapon
Dragonhelm
Dispel Scroll
Talisman of Preservation
The Other Trickster's Shard
Beguile
Quickblood
Red Fury
Barded Nightmare
Attacks in initiative order with STR 7 without magical attacks 2+AS 4+WS
I use him...
Ok I finally got a taste of the new dark elves and im not a fan of fighting them.
Witchelves as core are you kidding me !!
Anyway thought I would start this thread to help draw out the do's and dont's for fighting this new threat.
Won vs Elves
Lost vs Empire (STANK generated 13 CR in a milti charge situation)
Killed one stank with a TG but erred by ignoring the other one. One turn of STR 10 attacks really shines against 1+ Armor
I have the double handed weapons because there are plenty of beasties out there to hold this unit up. Plus if I end up in combat with a 1+ armor or a steam tank I want a guarentee its going down. I know what your saying about rerolls but since i still have quickblood for initiative order...
How does this look.
VLord lvl 4
Nightmare
Barding
Great Weapon
Shield
Armor of Destiny
Dispel Scroll
Dragonbane Gem
Potion of Strength
Beguile
Quickblood
Red Fury
Wight King
Great Weapon
Heavy Armor
Shield
BSB
Barding
Skeletal Steed
Dragonhelm...
I dont know if I agree with this entirely. If it were only limited to 5 than summon lists would dominate and the ranks would swell out of control.
However, as I pointed out earlier. At a minimum the unit that gives up the CR should be the one who takes the CR in damage.
(example) lets say...
With the release of the new elf flying chariot I started to ponder the following question.
If it has fly but cant march can it still move 20.
I know this is in debate with the Black Coach because of ethereal but what about everything else in the game?
And if you can't move 20 then why...
Auto fear would be great to have back if you outnumber and win combat but maybe instead of auto-run maybe reduced int, leadership, or weaponskill automatically.
Of course though then your back to paying an extra point or two per model for an ability you wont always get to use.
