So I can use settra, a tomb king, and khalida and stack righteous smiting 6 times on an archer unit, so they hit on 2's, and everytime I roll a 3+ I get 6 additional shots? If you are going to limit command abilities, then you have4 to impose the exact same limit on spells, otherwise you are...

Did you also make a 6 auto fail a battleshock test? or are you arbitrarily deciding some tests can be failed automatically and others can't? Does that mean a 6 auto hits and wounds too? or are you just weighting the outcomes towards the negative outcome?

But it doesn't matter if you out range the archers, that buys you one turn of shooting without counter fire, the archers automatically regrow so unless you kill the entire unit they come back. All it takes is 4 archers to guarantee your steam tanks and cannons are dead, as long as they have a2+...

Do you know what smashes through a 1+ armor save steam tank? Mortal wounds, that's how you smash that list, or the auto hit archer spam, a unit of 20 archers can drop 20 units a turn with their infinite hits. Also, Carrion, Carrion rock, a unit that can fly and can't be targeted until you...

I would assume the balewind vortex follows all the rules for buildings, where the building becomes the footprint for the model, so you can't move within 3'' of the vortex, but you can charge it, and you are only measuring to the base of the vortex and not his guy on top.

I like Najo's idea, the issue I see with forcing limits, means armies, like dwarves who have lots of warmachines gets penalized because their army doesn't fit a typical game. I think without more information, I would say try it the way you suggested, heroes, monsters, and warmachines, have to...

I disagree Age of sigmar works out of the box, it may not work the way you want it to but it does indeed work out of the box. GW traded list building prior to a game to list building during the deployment, you can drop counters for units they play, you can set up synergies and counterstrikes...

How did he have liberators and a lord relictor in the tower, that is two seperate units? Characters, unless you house ruled it, can't join units. but ya some characters are going to hurt, did he remember to add +1 to hit since you had over 5 wounds?

The bell says you can't apply a modifier, not that you can't modify the roll, the legality of it is unclear, and only an A-hole would use such a combo anyway with complete strangers.

I feel like the massive summoning attempts falls under that category of gamer you don't want to be. Obviously summonign 2-4 units a turn will break the game, just like bringing Kairos+the screaming bell, or a handful of other things. But most people won't do it, most people will bring a touch...

The other major consideration, is if you are summoning units that get blasted off the table, unless you win via major victory, you can easily end up with over 100% of your starting force killed, preventing you from attaining a minor victory, so summoning really is a gamble, you either summon...

Shooting explains ballistic skill and modifiers plus a table for to hit rolls, close combat explains we, with table and his to wounds with table and then explains saves, hero phase sounds like magic plus done, and I bet the final phase is break checks. It's do able, but will be challenging...

Oh they are complaining about how stupid GW is for releasing free rules, completely ignoring the fact that up until now they have complained about the cost of the rules, that and that It is impossible for GW to have a rule set in 4 pages so it must be utter crap.

From DakkaDakka, Mikhail is a retailer at a GW store who had a meeting with GW to inform him of what is going on. I love the idea of all the rules being free, and with everything going up Saturday, I am looking forward to seeing how Vampire counts and Tomb Kings fare under the new rules.

LOL, you have no idea, Warseer has turned into a giant whine fest, about how warhammer is over and this clearly means fantasy and 40k are the same thing, and everything else under the sun. I think the models look neat, but what I care to see more is the rules, that will decide whether I play...

If that is the age of sigmar starter set, it debunks the guy who claimed to playtest the game, noone with anything close to crossbows in there

Nope we are unlikely to see anything until next monday/tuesday when the white dwarf covering the preorder of Age of Sigmar gets leaked, and since it is supposed to basically be a starter set we will very likely have leaked pictures of miniatures but no information on rules or fluff.

I only started playing in 8th but the impression I got from older games, was previous editions were still mass battle but used much lower model counts than we see now, is there any reason gw couldn't be going back to the idea of those smaller model count editions, while changing the rules of 8...

Either Harry or Hastings, maybe both, over on warseer have stated some time shortly after this intro box on the 11th the full rules will drop allowing for larger mass battle games, although I wouldn't be surprised to find that point values increase so you need less models for a large army...

Is it no End Times or no Undead legions? Because Vampire counts can take Morghasts. But as other have said, you should play a few games with that list, find out what you like and what you don't and then adjust accordingly. You won't find what works best for you without playing lots of games.
