Age of sigmar

Death's faction trait grants a 6+ roll to ignore any wound or mortal wound, in addition to any other save or wound-cancelling abilities. If your general is a generic hero, not a named character, than you may also chose a command trait, arguably the best of them being every death unit within a bubble range of your general or any other death hero in your army gains a +1 on the faction trait rolls.

So yeah, basically, an army-wide 5+ feel no pain save in addition to any other saves, so long as your (generic only) general is still alive and you have heroes spread through your force. Its, frankly, kind of nuts, at least on paper.

Wow that is pretty awesome, So the alliance traits can replace the normal command traits of your general like a Wight King having the +on the roll or even becoming a wizard (for a true skeleton lich wizard or as a Arkhan on foot) instead of their normal trait? , I don't think I'll be able to wait for the generals book to be released sounds like I'll have a lot of reading when it is

Command traits don't replace command abilities, they are an addition to them.

hmmm this should be interesting I always thought FW were more interested in their money making heresy game to bother with age of Sigmar sonhopefully death gets some love as usually they focused on chaos and this character series becomes a regular update and not a once off after ages

The dude does look pretty awesome I just hope FW get around to releasing points so it benefit my Nurgle army

Double post but has anyone else seen this "get started" book for age of Sigmar Looks like another good idea from GW
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NZ/getting-started-with-age-of-sigmar-ENG
it's seriously a good deal. It's a 96pg book with a full run down on age of Sigmar setting and the alliances, has a painting guide as well as a battle report (for the starter set but still cool) a free storm cast eternal miniature and full rules for playing. It's basically the actual Age of Sigmar rule book (points are not included but that's to be expected since it is more of an add on) which is actually quite cheap ($17 NZ). Yeah for regular gamers it won't be of any use (though I'll probably get it as having the rules in book form is nice, as print outs don't feel the same) but for a person looking to get into age of Sigmar this is a great idea
Pre orders up now (in nz so everywhere else later today or tomorrow ) with release date the 23rd this month so just after the generals book release.

So my Age of Sigmar Generals book arrived in the mail today Some of the missions look quite fun and it is nice to have all the points as well. I also have in and got the get started with age of sigmar book and am quite stoked, it is seriously a handy book has a rundown on the fluff for age of sigmar plus what happens on the realm gate books. It truly is a complete starter book for AOS rules, painting and collecting guides plus cool looking army showcases it's all on there as well as a free storm cast eternal monature which should be fun to paint as something different.

Flesh eaters get their own start collecting set now (Storm cast Eternals , Khorne blood bound, Iron Jaws and Sylvaneth also get one) In it you’ll receive a Terrorgheist (I believe zombie dragon options are in as well) , three Crypt Horrors (likewise for multi options) and a set of ten Crypt Ghouls for another good saving.

image.webp Okay guys someone just asked about blood dragon on the black library Facebook page and their response was quite interesting.
Hard to tell but I think it won't be Abhorash that sees the light of day, rather we just get expanded background on blood knights and some new models foot and mounted.

I'm expecting a lot more of these non-release releases. In particular for death, I'd expect:

Nighthaunts:
banshee
3 different kinds of cairn wraiths (one for each of its face options)
hexwraiths
hexwraiths with black knight heads
spirit hosts
black coach
mortis engine (shuffled here and out of deathmages - necromancer to be moved to deadwakers as well, closing that subfaction entirely)
mortis engine with tome as a different unit

deathrattle:
wight king (fancy armor and 'black blade' made into artifacts, removing the 'black axe' unit)
skeletons with swords & shields
skeletons with spears & shields as a separate unit
grave guard with swords & shields
grave guards with great weapons as a separate unit
black knights
black knights with hexwraith heads
yes this means I think we'll see the deathrattle battletome with only a single hero, and no casters at all

Deadwalkers
necromancer
corpse cart with bell
corpse cart with flame as separate unit
zombies with no weapons
zombies with hand weapons as a second unit
zombies with spears/farm tools as a third unit
dire wolves

Soulblight:
as they are now, but adding 'vargheists, but with crypt horror arms' as a 'new' unit.

I just hope they update the old kits especially the zombies instead of giving repackaging them in the Age of Sigmar boxes I need new zombie models (though it has made it so I got cheap models since they were leftovers at my FLGS in the old packaging got a daemon price really cheap)

Also black knight rules might get reworked as well. this was done to the ogors mounrfang cavallery, where they started out in compendium and GA destruction with dual weapons, but in their new battletome they removed the dual weapons and replaced them with weapon and iron fist or a 2 handed weapon, thus now they are inline with what the model actually has. something similar might be done for the black knights when deathrattle battletome hits.

If they didn't get rid of the vargulf, blood knights, branchwraith or Swordmaster of Hoath models during the great purge I doubt they will bother for a while.

Only a few kits are so old as to really, desperately NEED new models, but the zombie kit is certainly among those that are. It is clearly from another time, and just looks out of place alongside other modern (ie, within the past decade even) kits. The mantic models are better, and that's not something I ever say.
