Well, maybe GW with Neferata will solve this problem, she still rocks (and her short story is described in the grand alliance book), and has a lover now as well. ^_^

I am not up to date with aos fluff - who is her lover now?

Also, Warhammer characters usually met to beat each other up - that's what the game is about ;) Their romantic interests can be off-battlefield ;)

Lord Harkon, glaube ich, must check this, but it's really interesting. In the Balance of Power her city Nulhamia is attacked and a vampire lord on zombie dragon, her lover and protector, leads her forces in battle. Also she manipulates a wight king to achieve her goals, it's described in the grand alliance. I have a copy so can write everything :)

Exactly!

I would have thought Neferata to be a strong independent vampiress and capable of protecting herself, but this is still interesting ;) I think I'll get a look in those books myself - but perhaps I need to finish End Times first xD

Both things don't interrupt with each other, you know :) Neferata behaves like she always did - using others for her own ends. She is mighty beyond comparison, being the Mortarch of Blood auf jeden Fall, but that does not mean she has to show up personally every time ;)

Yeah she sends her lover out to die in the balance of power book. Not sure if he does or not but she's not super worried about his safety lol

As I remember, he is still alive - it's hard to "kill" a vampire lord, and the Stormcasts come in time to save the day. And of course she worries not, she had thousands of them before and will in the future.

Mannfred is ever cunning and vicious, I've listened to "Fist of Gork, fist of Mork" and here he, besides from all other things, enchants the dead in the mountains in such a way that when the heroes come there they are ambushed by thousands of skeleton warriors. :)

Nice. I haven't listened to any of the realm of beasts audio dramas but did listen to the realm of death ones. I'm a bit confused by this supposed betrayal. He brought them to Nagash as promised, he didn't really betray anyone regardless of what he actually said to Nagash.

That's cool to hear. Honestly, I'm ok with there being no overtly female models - boob armor is dumb, and the stormcasts are forged in the image of Sigmar regardless. What I really want is a named stormcast hero who is a woman. Like not just 'uh, sure, there are girl stormcasts if you want' but 'this specific named stormast hero, with a prominant narrative role in the main campaign, is a woman'.

In the mean time, though, I guess baby steps will have to do.

Well, anyway it's said all men and women of the land the khornates have butchered were elevated to the ranks of the Stormcasts. With Valkia at the forefront of the fighting in the Ashlands that suffices.

For those of you who were upset that Allarrielle was objectified in AoS books, doing nothing while Stormhosts defend her...

Here comes the new Goddess of Life, in her glorious war aspect, riding a giant goddamned rhino beetle!

(And some Nagash from the Flesh-Eaters book)

I saw that picture on Twitter. Isn't it just a fan picture or is it from a book? It wasn't really clear on the tweet what the source was. I would be very excited if we were getting a new Alarielle model.

It is, afaik, official. We'll be seeing new wood elves who are basically half elf, half tree spirit. The art looked real cool. And alarielle riding a giant stag beetle which, honestly, I wasn't as impressed. I was hoping when she hatched from that seed it would be into a giant war-aspect version of Ariel from before - huge, moth wings, but with some tree spirit influence? Instead it's just... her again. I mean, riding a big monster, sure, but after the build up I kind of find it a bit... anticlimactic?

But regardless, it will be nice to see her take a more active role. And she was, technically beat out by the high elf hero from the new silver tower game as the first overtly female model in age of sigmar that wasn't just a holdover from warhammer fantasy. Not that that's some fantastic turnaround, mind, as the box has like 50 models of which one is female and the rest are either male or genderless monsters. 'Age of Sausage' is still a very valid mockery/criticism of the product line.

@Aranei Next time draw them for us - that is probably allowed :)

I think that this beetle could be very nice if they really release it - it's untypical and interesting - and a ridden beast is a safe bet. It could spawn some interesting conversions. Also, I'm not sure if Alarielle can pull off the 'giant humanoid' look well.

Mannfred still rocks, well, as usual :) in the Great Red, continuation of the Beasts of Cartha and Fist of Gork, Fist of Mork, he manipulated the Stormcasts through the skull of a dead ogre to make them go to the Sea of Bones and confront the Ironjaws, because he wants to take that land and then confront Nagash in turn, with full force. And well, he certainly can :)

It seems that artists continue to leak illustrations depicting the new Alarielle. This time it is Bayard Wu's picture of the Everqueen fighting some skeletons and spirit hosts. Mad 'At will flay me alive if i post it, so google it. Here are my observations:
1. Alarielle's left arm is a dryad's arm, with wooden claws and such. Her right arm is elven and holds a staff. Her new elves share these traits - a wooden left arm and a normal right one, holding a weapon.
2. She has wings that look to be branches, with leaves instead of feathers. She still rides a giant goddamned rhino beetle. Possibly for his might more than for his speed.
3. A 4-armed treeman can be spotted in the lower-left corner.
