Very nice as always Mioum. Really like your theme colour of green on his cape, looks excellent

Well, as robtion said, some blueish and/or grayish glazes could change his skintone a bit to what you're looking for ;]
Skeletons turned out great - lots is happening in that merry company ^^ I must say I very much like the shade of the green you use - it works very, very nice with the tone of the earth and bones there. And while I'm at it - I also like the basing and the composition of those two colours - grass and earth
The vampire is awesome ;] maybe one day there will be a vampiric power enabling bloodsuckers to be scouts - this guy would be perfect for it

Thanks guys! I'm currently working on a second characters and I'm trying out different paints for the skin. Found a better base color, now I need to find out what kind of wash to use! Tried a few mix, but not quite there yet, so still experimenting

Finished the second Vampire with a new skin color this time. Prefer the skin tone there a lot better, though it's harder to take good pics off it.
Pretty simple model, it's the Mantic Vampire lady. The details wasn't as sharp as I would have liked on the face, made it harder to paint. But otherwise she came out nice enough.

Again great painting a colour choices. She will match the other vamp nicely. Mantic should hire you to advertise their models, your painting really does them justice
I didn't even know that mantic had such a model Nice work with the painting and matching them together. Also, I must say that this painting style of strong gradients from black to green - especially on their cloaks - is very intriguing and interesting

I haven't started to paint anything else since I finished her, went to do some modelling instead (for my TK this time), so don't know what or when I'll paint more for my VC. So much to do, but can't do everything at the same time :tongue:

I always wonder when I see logs like this, are you a professional artist? Did you go to art school? How much did you spend on your painting area, do you use special equipment, lighting, do you use an airbrush?
I can't see how people get results like this just sitting at a desk like I do...

I'm not a professional artist, nor did I went to art school. It's all self-taught and skills acquired with practice (though I don't see me as particularily skilled, good yes, but not great). I paint and work on my models on a small area (little desk less than 3 feet wide), and don't use particular or fancy tools.
I buy and use cheap paint brush, I tried a more "professional" sable brush, but it didn't last, I'm a bit rough on my paint brush I guess and they don't survive in my hand! I have a good control of my brush though, so if I can get a good point it's good enough for me.
I have a few sculpting tools but nothing out of the ordinary. I have a single halogen lamp to help me, wich double as my heating source for bending plastic
I don't have an air brush either, never used that, and as long as I don't try one I won't feel the need to have one

So I spent a little time building some VC models this weekend, and started my Werewolves unit, aka Crypt Horrors count-as.
I build a dozen of them so far, but ran out of bases so only have 10 finished for now. I ordered some more bases so once I get them I might resume the work and complete the unit. I probably mentioned it before, but I'll have enough for a horde, so should be interesting at least
The white one is a Reaper Bones model, it's the perfect size so will probably be the champ in the unit.
I managed to get a few decent poses out of the models despite the limited pieces, so I'm quite happy with that, although I'm running out of option after 12 of them
Anyway, here's the picture;

Wow, we surely haven't seen those in a long time, since that one werewolf of yours almost... a year ago! Cool poses, they don't look like clones and that's awesome - I'm waiting so see them finished

They're Mantic werewolves. And Mioum, you may get more mileage out of them if you use some Fenrisian Wolf heads on the next batch.

But yeah I sometime buy more than I can take, because when a deal present itself, better take advantage of it! For the price I paid those Werewolves, I had to take them. I buy stuff knowing they'll sit untouched for a while, but at least I have them whenever I'm ready and/or feel likes working on them!@Mc1gamer; Like Adam_Barrow said, the main unit is made up of Mantic Werewolves. I got them when they launched their Kickstarter so I didn't paid to much to get them
@Adam_Barrow; That might be cool, but they already have 4 heads variant per 3 Wolves, so that's one thing they don't really lack! The body and arms only have 2 variants wich is what will bring repetitions more frequently. But I got a good number of poses already wich I'm pretty happy with. The paint job should do the rest, I might mix colors a bit with black, brown and gray Wolves.

Oh - I know that feel. I buy whatever 'one-time-occasions-buy-now-or-it-will-never-be-as-cheap' are there on the auctions and then scramble to find time to paint it all :slapface: But as you say - there is always something to paint and it's a wide selection
Also, you got them on kickstarter and paid less? I thought you get much models in these cases, but much of it goes into actually funding the project? Or maybe it's something different? Nevertheless, a sweet deal.

The green cape on both latest characters where indeed simple. I use Orkhide Shade, Snot Green and Scorpion green for everything I paint green, and just used those colors for the cape. Didn't do any special blending technique either, outside of watering down my paint. Just painted something like half the cape with Orkhide Shade (leaving some recess black), then a bit less with Snot Green, and then a smaller portion with Scorpion Green.
In other news, I decided to paint my old Ghouls that were lying around. This is a somewhat "unfluffly" unit for my army, but I like those metal models compared to the newer plastic, and I had them anyway
So why not paint them! Plus after a few games, having something else than Skeletons and some wolves for core could be fun to use.Currently it's only 16 models (was enough for 2 units back when they were skirmishing!), but I bought a few more to bring them to 21. Painted them really simple, a base color plus a wash mostly, I wanted them quick and easy!
Managed to finish my small Ghouls unit;
In light of the the new Undead Legion, that unit will fit better in the army now that I can just summon it right into the game without having to pay for it first

I've never seen those older ghouls before, but I definitely prefer them to the new ones too. They're more human, less monstrous, and just feel more like cannibals if that makes sense? Plus I can tell from here that they rank up much easier. Nice paint job too (as always).
