Arron was born in new south wales in Australia and lived there for the first five years of his life. After his grand parents dyed he and his mother father and new baby son moved away from the busy, dirty city and moved north to warmer seas. Arron was always a perculer child and had a different way of looking at things in his life. He believed in the impossible and would get lost in a forest near by his Queensland home the forest was a source of inspiration through his child hood and in turn pushed away others people and sought friendship with other strange people like himself.
for ten years he explored this strange forest, learning and thinking and fighting with his imagination running hiding and loving the forest which grew with in his soul. This continued until his parents split apart and the house was sold. His opinion of people was less than gracious after years of abandonment because of his strange behavior. His sense of love was more like a devotion and the his first encounter was filled with doubt and distress and in the end was born to fail.
His school life was mildly productive and he enjoyed the company of his favorite teachers sometimes more than his friends. In fact he enjoyed all manner of interesting people and never shied away form engaging one of these fascinating people in some form of conversation. He would have been best described as an air head enjoying music and the world around him more than maths or English which he paid little attention in. After school he went on to become a musician excelling at the violin and acoustic guitar he studied and taught others to pay rent. and writing in his spare time on an warhammer forum.
He soon moved away from Australia to travel the world and see the sights with his friend Greg Jewlen an intellectual and all around lazy guy he and Arron have traveled for about 2 years looking for their purpose in life.

Not neccesarily. Complete atheism is often pretty irrational.
Thats an interesting opinion. I find that more atheists live empty and soullessly than religious people. But anyway. Whether god is real or not, believing in something, something that requires you to dedicate your existance to not only goodness and right, but to helping others, can make you really, really strong, mentally and spiritually. Also, on another note, faith can give you reason to do things you would not otherwise do. Look at the people who travel to africa to build houses and schools, or on the darker side, the terrorists who blow themselves up.
Also, I think I am going to change my characters gender. This is too much of a sausage fest.

The whole point of believing in god is taking it completely on faith.. he cannot be proved to exist, nor can it be proved that he doesn't exist.. so surely it is the person that makes that judgement call with no evidence and only faith, that is the irrational one?
Just because a person is an atheist doesn't mean that they are rendered unable to have faith in anything else. Atheism is a belief that there is no deity, so it stands to reason that someone who doesn't believe in a god of any kind could believe in humanity or himself.. or even believe that Swindon Town TC are going to win the FA cup next year (Unlikely, but keeping the faith).
Monotheism and Atheism are as irrational as each other; it's just down to each individual to choose who or what they believe in.

No doubt religion is a strong motivation to live a 'good' life, however I definitely don't agree that we don't need a God figure to be 'good'. While 'good' can be subjective, the parts that most of us can agree on(do not kill, do not steal, etc) are the foundation of civilization. So if it takes a God to be 'good', civilization as we know it would not have come to be.
Also, religion is not all positive, as you yourself have noted with your suicide bomber reference. I was educated in a Christian school for 10 years, and to keep things short I think it is one of the most common causes of bigotry.
On a non-religion related tangent, I'm intrigued by the premise of this RPG but I'm not sure if i can spare time for this when I take into account TVC.

I did not say all atheists are irrational. However, alot of Atheists are irrational in that they proffess to be believers in logic and 1# are so set in their ways that they refuse to listen to any other ideas 2# see those who are religious as being out to force them to be religious 3# see themselves as being more logical than those who worship deities.

Evanm7, I hope that you're not taking this as any attempt to preach or convert in any attempt. This is only a logical discussion, and I was quite enjoying myself.
You do have a point though; logically, belief without any sort of evidence does sound foolhardy. I'll stop there, I'm not a member of any specific religion myself, but I'm very spiritual.
