Well, I think the idea of a guardian daemon is cool, but the execution may just be a little overpowered. And if a smart enemy works out he only protects her, nothing more, then the attacks may be directed against everyone else. And Ellen is hardly a Blood Dragon. And if he's captured she's extremely vulnerable. but still it'd be a change from all the powerful characters. Maybe she also needs some ability of her own (brains, if not physical or fighting ability, perhaps). I'm just not comfortable with a character with that kind of bodyguard, but is extremely, well, not useful without her bodyguard.

@Count Vashra, I can't tell what Helena's induction into the order will bring. We'll have to see what our dear GMs can come up with.

And @Mello, I think the biggest issue will be the combination of character egos and Lucatiel's destructive power. I can't see why any character would welcome Ellen's company or keep her around for anything when she's practically uncontrollable. If Lucatiel's offense was toned down and it focused more on keeping Ellen unharmed instead of butchering attackers I think it would work better in a co-operative RP like this one.

You may have noticed I haven't been on ad much as usual!

Yes IRL issues have cropped up badly for me.

That said, the main issue for this RP currently is that Sanguine Prince has not posted for Esmeralda's action with the mirror yet (key to the conclusion of this chapter) so we cannot progress much.

I will, when I have time, address this issue with direct intervention if this is deemed necessary.

Thanks for the constructive criticism is nice to have. And I can see the issue:

Effectively Luca's power is fine, its merely he's aggro'd too easily (sound like a RPG player now). Assuming that's the problem then I can change it around so Luca only does something if blood is drawn or Ellen's life is directly in danger (ie building collapsing on top of her). Would that fix everyone's issues?

Edit: It should be noted I do RP entirely for player to player interactions and have no desire to be a power gamer or anything of the sort, hence why my previous characters have been so, well, terrible in combat. I thought it would be interesting to play a character that HAS power, but has no control over when to actually use it and who she can use it on.

@Mello Most of us are still available to some degree (Dready, Simon and meself) although RL has reared it's ugly head the real issues are with the actual plot information itself (although this isn't as bad as it sounds). At the moment we had agreed to wait for Sanguaine but if it appears that Sanguaine definitely isn't going to post then one of us willl step in and take control ourselves to progress things.

I do apologise to everyone for the delay however, things weren't quite as set up as we'd hoped and now Real Life is interfering!.

My internet should be fixed soon (but I also have a full time job and univeristy work to catch up on) and I'll get back online far more frequently than I have been.

Besides TVC never dies, it merely slumbers.

I'm still here, floating around in limbo. Prince Kithan is as eager as ever to be involved in pushing the plot forward.
The mirror isn't that powerful, it's just a simple communication link that was meant to be incredibly fragile and inflexible.
Perhaps Helena could use the mirror as part of her initiation into the Order? I think it would be quite in character for her to smash it half way through a vital message!
I must admit I have topped checking in on a daily basis, so please do give a little warning when we start up again.

But isn't the idea that the mirror allows communication with one's homeland/Master Vampire? With Vlad being dead/vanished (one of the nice little mysteries left behind after TVCI) a von Carstein couldn't really use it, and anyway weren't we going to get a Lahmian to talk to Neferata through it? Not that Niklaus is volunteering!

Well, I think the plan was that one of the mini-GMs would take over but...that doesn't seem to have happened. I have no ideas.

Also, a question for @Count Magpyr: Who would actually be able to see through Kithan's mirror? Just the person who puts their blood in it, and those on the other side? And would those on the other side be able to see everyone in the room?

The only thing I think we can do right now is wait. Christmas time is probably not going to get better depending on your family situation but afterwards we might see the return of our GM's.

Hello everybody! My internet (whilst still annoying disconnecty) is more or less back, I'm afraid I can't progress anything at the moment but we know the next step is for Esmerelda to use the Mirror (If I'm remembering names right), I believe Dready wanted to take care of this so hopefully with the holidays he'll have time to get back to us.

I'm still hoping DoN gets back but I think TDK has a decent idea of where the plot goes next (I may be wrong!).

For now let's see how things progress over Christmas and if no one else shows up then I'll try to get something sorted as best I can in the new year.

Hi Vashra,

My idea with the mirror was just to try and get things moving. I felt the discussions in the chamber were just going in round in ponderous circles and I was hoping the mirror would give the GMs a chance to input some new stimuli into the discussion. In my mind the mirror would allow the doner to communicate with their maker through a second mirrored surface (mirror, pool of water etc). They would be able to see the rooms each other were in, but they would not be able to see any other sentient being, to them Neferata will simply appear to be talking to her own reflection (I imagine she does this anyway!).

To be honest I am still a little unsure how time moves in the game. I was expecting to take about half a day to construct the first mirror. It is an enchantment that Kithan is very familiar with and it was a very temporary structure, only good for one use. However it seemed as though the storyline had only progressed by a few minutes and the mirror was built. Probably down to me not communicating properly. On the plus side I now have a mirror full of unused power, mentally linked to Kithan, I am just waiting for an opportunity to set it off!

I do hope that we are able to get going again soon, there were some interesting characters developing.

Well, Vampires don't actually have reflections! So would that hold true for Neferata looking through the other side?

I have been able to do little more than lurk for he past few months and aporeciate these concerns greatly. Hopefully I will be able to finally claw back some time for CN stuffz at the weekend. There will be a lot to do but I am not shying away from this and the tvc ii is my first priority here. Needless to say I will advance the plot when I post again regardless of whether or not sanguine prince has posted by then.

Oh and Vashra, the vamps using the mirror are not using it to look at their reflection, think of it as a person specific window that they can look through, but only see each other.

It's a good point though and makes me wonder why there are so many around? Perhaps the VCs use then to disguise all their secret passages?
