Hi, I'm jack, I'm thinking about starting vampire counts, if nothing else the models and from what I can see the playstyle really appeal to me. I play 40k a fair bit, and have ork and IG armies.

Hi,

My name is Brutus Salazaar.

I've just started playing Warhammer Fantasy (been playing 40K games on PC for a while).

I bought a Vampire Counts Spearhead army box and a box of zombies (now fully assembled *shoe*.

They have been beaten by my flat mate who rode in under Bretonian flags and mulched me to bits...

I think it was due to my inexperinece with the army and only having one Vampire Lord and only 965 points :innocent:

Looking forward to meeting interesting people and reading up on the army we all love (the only one worth fighting for anyway :vampire3:

Welcome to the forum,

By the way, you would do well if you bought a box of grave gaurd if you want to beat your brettonian friend, they are some good units to have in your army.

Hello all :)

Being a long term 40k player (with Space Marines, Imperial Guard and Inquisition forces), I only recently become interested in fantasy, primarily the undead! (skaven just don't have the same allure)

I look forward to being a part of the community :)

Hello Baron L, and the rest of you newcomers too. Welcome to Carpe Noctem!

If you have any questions about the forum, please don't hesitate to ask me or another member of staff (or whoever else you might wish to ask, really). We won't bite you that hard if its your first time. :vampire2:

Hi guys and Gals :vampire3: (I had to use this icon, sorry)

My name is Brandon. I have owned warhammer armies for years now, but only really started playing a fair amount this edition.

My first army was dark elves years ago, but I thought they sucked. However, I was wrong and it turned out I sucked back then lol. I foolishly sold my fully paint first army. I started vampire counts after that. I have around 3000pts 95% painted.

My other army is wood elves. I have every unit from the book, but none of it is painted yet. That’s why I choice a wild elf vampire for my avatar (thematic eh lol?) I am also starting a high elf army, but I want to do that paint as you buy thing with it. I guess you can say I have a thing for elves;) .

Looking forward to talking tactics and army designs with you guys. I plan on posting my army list soon.

Hey welcome Malekith, the name already got me thinking you where a dark elf player.
This must be a strange switch. A diehard elf fan suddenly choosing a Vampire counts army.
Anyway welcome to the forum.
If you have any questions you should ask some moderators (those are the guys that know stuff xD )

Hey there!

Long time fantasy player here, Always had an interest in the VC, Limitless numbers... brilliant strategies and well... Magic. :D

I'm a Daemon player, Have been since Daemons were given their own rules, Heard about this place from my long time rival army wise, DDM, The VC master of the north east. :konrad: Decided I would have a peek in and maybe learn a thing or two.

I've had an interesting time reading through the forums here, Found some great discussions and Info as well. A very good community feel from what I've gleamed so far, Hopefully I can turn my hand to playing the VC's sometime, Instead of just fantasising about it or coming up with ways of countering them. See you around! :D

Yeah it’s pretty different from my elf armies. But I have actual owned it for longer than my other armies. I think around 4 years now. Since I have actual started to play the game a fair amount, I want to get involved with the online community.

Greetings.

I am Count Pickleburp from the lesser-known Gurkenstein clan of Sylvania...

Okay, I'm a new to Warhammer and felt drawn to VC's as my primary army. I got the battalion box set and have added 2 Necros (1 walking, 1 mounted). I'm currently working on figuring out my approach before I buy a general. I'm leaning toward Zacharias on the Zombie Dragon with Konrad and a generic VL on the side.

I see we have a number of Dutch on the forums. I actually became interested in Warhammer at the Games Workshop Hobby Center on Rokin 36 in Amsterdam last May. I had heard of Warhammer but we haven't had a Hobby Center in our state in a while. The guys at the Amsterdam store were incredibly nice and accommodating to my friend and I, a couple of Yanks in town on business.

Denn die todten reiten schnell! (Yes, German, but one of my favorite quotes from Stoker's Dracula)

Hey there!
In the process of building a VC army. Not all GW miniatures though. Don't know if that is frowned upon or not. Looking forward to playing them and giving my Goblins a rest.

Wow what a username :scared: blood ... sucking ... mad ... man ...
Anyhow welcome to the forum, and the use of mini´s that don´t carry the label of GW is perfectly fine, some here even prefer a non GW army :)

Hello, i'm knew.....

I don't know much about VC, so have know idea of what makes a good army list, how to choose characters or even what a corpse cart is.
I did read a Black Libary book recently called 'Bloodline' which was fun, so i plan to lurk around for a while collecting more knowledge on the black arts and slowly start to raise an undead army of my own

:grave:

Hello,
I recently started a VC army and it will be my first warhammer army too
i have around 1500 pts but am hoping to get some more quite soon
hoping to get some help on painting because im quite horrible at it

Hello and welcome to Carpe Noctem both frogboy and count gabula
If you have questions you can ask one of the mods or our charismatic admin Disciple of Nagash.

By the way Count Gabula I think your signature has a small grammar flaw. it isn´t I vant to ... but I want to. Just saying :zombie:

Lo there.

My name is Mike irl. I'm a returned Warhammer player, having taken some 14 years off. Lured back by some of the lovely new models and finally found some people of my own age that still take an interest in So'ton!
Previously, I was always Chaos at heart but have decided to initiate myself into the VC ranks now as it seems to me of a thinkers army and the army can look lovely if painted up properly.
I played against a mate's VC army in a small skirmish and tore it apart with my old lot, so am keen to become a much more successful Lord myself!
I've got a young family to paint around so will probably be composing a 1k pt army to start with, as many do. Please do shout if there are any obvious mistakes to avoid in a force this small. My character seem to account for about a quarter of my points - is that normal? I guess they uber important in VC!

Great site by the way. I shall browse the forums for some tips!

Hey guys
I got back into warhammer last november after a friend got island of blood and been building a VC army since as I love to play dead things xD
(didnt like tomb kings:tongue: )
For a few months ive been reading this forum as a sorce of good info and thought its about time I joined.

Now lets kick some skaven and HE butt :suck:

Hello,
Played the Vampire Counts for years. I have a zombie heavy army (100) to be exact, they make wonderful speed bumps for Grail Knights. I don't limit myself to Warhammer models , in fact my two main heroes are Reaper miniatures. I hope that GW makes plastic Black Knights, retains the Blood Knights in the new book. I am sure GW will make a large based monster like the Skaven's Hell-pit Abomination. I am hoping they make something along the lines of D&D's Grave-dirt Golem. New Rules , death is cheap, allowing all spells to be cast into combat. Hate the Lore of Light and the Fay Enchantress.

Ahoy!

I've browsed these forums a long time for info, and now I'm officially registered. I'm in the Atlanta area and a recent college graduate. Being as such the irregular income makes my army production pretty slow.

I'm a long time player of various tabletop games, most of my previous wargaming experience is from messing around with limited battleforces in Warhammer 40k or a little Warmachine, but I determined I vastly prefer Warhammer Fantasy all around. I've been sortof a spectator for WHFB for years, but lately I've been slowly putting together my first official army, naturally only the Vampire Counts would do. :) So far I've got a pretty respectable core of infantry gathered (if not painted), so my primary concerns are the kitbashing/conversions for characters or other rares and specials. As I generally try to keep my models within the GW tournament-legal proportions of model components, that means I gotta get creative and resourceful for some of those not-so-current models that I'm sure you guys can relate to.

Also, recently painted my first models ever, some empire flagellants as Spirit Host painted with the guidelines generously shared in the latest Invocation that turned out pretty nice, which I'm most grateful for. I'll probably start a plog to show some of the models I'm working on, got a couple of nice conversions going and some more planned.

:vampire2:

Hey guys, just introducing myself.

I collect mostly dwarfs. I have a small High elf army. But I decided it was time for something evil. I played undead a long time ago, (4th ed? maybe, I still have the old rulebook)

I have started collecting much VC yet, so expect a lot of questions from me. And I thank you all in advance.
