I hope Fell bats Stay, I just converted 10 of them, it would be very annoying, if they are redone though its a new model, fine casting a crap model still just gives you crap.

lol!

I would like to see them stay, albeit having slightly better stats... and for Nagash's sake please make them (and dire puppies) true core.

Would anyone really moan if zombies were dropped from the book? Given that they're almost beyond useless and it just feels they're in as the idea of them's cool?

I would bemoan GW if they removed zombies from the game. I too have over 100 zombies and would hate for them to go.

They BADLY need fixed so they're worth a damn, but removing them would tick off 75%+ of the VC players including me (as that many of us have 100+) even if we're just summoning them. Also that would royally fubar our fluff.

No :zombie: = :swear: VC gamers
:swear: VC gamers = :skull: GW staff

No Zombie1 = Swear VC gamers
Swear VC gamers = Skull GW staff

indeed, I have to admit the only thing tat won me over back when I was deciding on an army was the zombies ( because they're kewl kids) and I think I would have to play with the current book (with all it's faults) if they were removed, it just wouldn't feel right

I could go for a change though, make them useable as something that isn't a wall of flesh.

I think the biggest rip-off from GW along the years is the fact that they sometimes drop out entire units from army books when a new book is released. For exmple as a Skaven player I had no way of playing a Doom Wheel or Vermin Lord between editions. Then they came back in their newest book.

It's a slap in the face of a hobbyist to give him/her units to play with and rules for them, expect them to buy the new models in bundles and then in the next edition completely erase the unit from the book, making the models obsolete. (or fillers for the bits bin)

In my opinion it's a really lazy (from GW) and unfair (towards the hobbyist) way to deal with balance issues. If a unit is too good -> nerf it, or too weak -> boost it.

Just by sticking to modifying the rules for old ones and adding new units to army lists GW would at least appear a bit fairer towards the people who support the hobby. It's just that nowadays it seems that every move they make is very calculated in the way to maximize profits. This turns people away from their range to seek out alternate manufacturers and they are losing revenue because of that fact.

I would be pissed off if they removed zombies. Not because they are any good this edition but they stand of everything the undead should be, a lumbering horde of unrelenting death.

Also I think alot of players would be annoyed as they have so many zombies, I too have more than I care to count and I just got 30 more from mantic just because I love their zombie model.

and @El Syf yeah i'd be annoyed if zombies got dropped ive got like 100 of them and they are a unit that are a big part of the VC fluff

on the UK webiste you cannot add the vamp book to the shopping cart/basket, as states not available anymore

also, curses to you since you are a mag!!! I hope you snap your vampire fangs on a stone trolls neck :)

I have just checked out all the VC products from the GW website (UK) and so far the following items are no longer available:

Army Book
Zacharias on Zombie Dragon
Necromancer on Nightmare
Fell Bats

We knew about the AB and the Fell Bats, but what about the 2 characters? My guess is that they will both be removed, as we have a new ZD model and necromancers probably still won't have the possibility to be mounted on nightmares. Ofcourse, if they redid Zacharias as a SC, they could just be making a new model for him.
Disclaimer: This is all based on no evidence at all, just my guesses :)

Would be good if they did at least one special character for each bloodline, after all warriors of chaos got 9 special characters this time round.

I really really want to see a necromancer lord! That would be awesome! And it owuld mean I could have a nice combat vamp and not suffer epicly on the magic front!

I hope they keep the corpsecart but change it to be able to join in a unit, like maybe join in a unit of zombies, then give the zombies a ward save/regen save or something.

I hope they make it worth taking... right now it's craptastic in CC so the only reason to ever take it would be it's abilities and 100p for +1 models raised is a bit much. Sure the ASF can be nice (against HE) but most of the time it's not needed.

yeah, i have two of them and they never get used. their abilities are not worth the carts cost and they get slaughtered as soon as they get charged, never mind getting shot.
i like the idea of the cart joining a zombie unit and providing a boost in some way, kinda like the undead plague furnace for zombie monks

I kind of like how they work as magic dampeners, deployed behind own units and along with the Black Coach and a necromancer with the Staff of Sorcery. I wield them if I don't want to make a magic-heavy army list.

my main opponents are lizardmen and skaven who usually take thanquol (with his large number of warptokens) and a slaan so the -1 doesn't usually do much for me, i would like it if they made it possible to put necro's in zombie units and could act in a similar way to a TK necrotect, giving them some kind of bonus or even halving the number of wounds they take from crumbling if they're on a corpse cart

Oh yeah I hadnt noticed that they had taken away the add to cart availability.
And curses to you since you are a mag was the last thing I'd expect from someone with username of geordieclubba :clown:

I would hope they do something to crumbling when the general dies (I doubt it though) or make the army general VERY tough or make it like the tomb kings, that the general is not the one who keeps the army alive (I doubt this one also).

Someone might say that the Vampire lord if tough enough but since about 90% of the time when he dies, the vampires loose they could make him even tougher... or maybe give the GENERAL some buff to make him harder to kill or something...

With vampires its like always playing the breaking point mission... if the general dies, its all over. Vampire lord if very Killy but do you really dare to put him into combat...

well if it's blood dragons you're kind of obliged to! I don't mind crumbling so much, it's part and parcel of the army. I think all models with the vamppire rule should be exempt from it, as they are well Vampires!

Vampires should make break-tests, the rest should just crumble.

I like the idea of a crumbling army when the general dies. It gives the battle something dramatic: Evil will win, but the good guys still have a last change to save the world: A Jedi, a magical ring, etc. The compensation should be that the general is really tough, or that his army is powerful enough to protect him.
