Thanks for the distraction there, champ.

Got my computer up and running last night and did some work on my Golden Bat Entry.

Here's what we have so far:

Base, rider and mount all ready and primed.

Finished up the juicy bits on the horse, now starting the metal work. I plan on making it look very aged and beat up.

That's all for now. Also made some good progress on my army for the army painting comp. as well. Will post soon.

Well needless to say, I'm pretty pissed off right now. I was up at my local hobby centre painting as I normally do and working on my Golden Bat entry. I decided to get up and go and grab a Mountain Dew to edge out my caffeine monkey.

I come back and my model is gone along with six of my marauders and an ogre for my Warriors of Chaos army.

WTF?

I could see maybe taking the marauders and ogre since they're just about done, but my Vampire rider and mount are far from finished and have a ways to go. They don't sell Gamezone Minis at the centre so I could see someone possibly eying it up as something that no one has around here, but GIVE ME A BREAK.

Normally I can leave my stuff unattended for moments at a time up there since everyone knows each other and it's a pretty fun and laid back atmosphere, but not anymore I guess.

I asked around and I think I have an idea who might have taken it, but I can't be certain. I notified that staff, and they'll keep an eye out for it, but there's been some new faces milling around up there.

I guess I'll have to start all over again for my GB and proxy models in for my WOC game this weekend.

For what it's worth , the model was looking fantastic as do all of your mini's. It's obviously the price you pay for being so tallented RA, people are going to want your epicness and some can't do anything but resort to theft.

Hope it works out. I'd try to forget it though, as hard as it is. I had a load of stuff stolen from my shop here in Beijing before it closed down. It's not nice at all.

Thanks guys. The place has security cameras and such and I'm friends with the manager there so he's going to look through them. I know the regulars there wouldn't touch myself because not only would they be kicked out of the store, but they'd be ostracized from the tight-nit gaming community here.

On the bright side, it's only the 8th today so I still have over 20 days to get my entry done which is more than manageable. But still, I haven't painted decaying decaying flesh like that ever! Arg...

Live and learn I guess.

Security camera for the win! It pleases me to know that there's atleast a chance for justice.The whole affair is despicable,only a true lowlife would steal someones models.I can understand some acts of theivery,like hungry people taking food,but I'll never understand this sort.
It's the same type of person that would steal your music collection.Willfully hurting people you have so much in common with seems like an act of self betrayal.

Indeed. I mean perhaps I shouldn't leave my own stuff unattended like that, but I'm surrounded by people I know there about 98% of the time and gaming communities are known to be pretty trusting to members and such.

Oh well. Live and learn. I think I have a new idea for a GB, but I'm not sure yet. My heart was pretty set on the one I was working on so I'll have to improvise.

Found a solution to my missing WOC models- unit fillers. I'm not sure why they just ran off with some marauders and an ogre as I have a ton of them in my army (why not some of the characters and stuff? My hell cannon was right there too...), but I made more of my ogre unit fillers just for my marauder horde to help up the number. I should be covered there then.

Guess I'll just work on my WOC for the time being until I go and get another model for the GB. At least there is always ice cream!

Sounds like the actions of a kid to me...an Acquisitive older type would have likely stolen models based on value.
That gamezone knight is like a $20 kick in the sack,but the other models are relatively cheap.It was a theft of opportunity,he probably didn't even know what all he'd snatched until he got away.

Good point, who knows and sadly, there's nothing that can be done now. However, we have a tourny coming up here in the next two months and it'll be interesting to see if that model just happens to show up in an army somewhere. Oh that'd be awkward for that player, haha.

Anyways, enough of the bad news, here's some good stuff:

My pride and joy is nearly complete. I still have another set of wheels to add, chain bits, and the crew. This is by far one of the most complex metal models I have ever done. There is so much detail to it; enough that every time I look at it, I want to add more and more to it.

What do you think?

Also, I have two new ideas that I'm currently tinkering with on my desk for my new GB entry. They both involve converting, which I'll admit I'm not the greatest at, but there's no harm in attempting and learning. I'll post pictures of the one I decide to go with. Let's just say they both involve a ton of kit bashing!

Two updates in one night, woo hoo.

Made up my mind for which new Golden Bat entry that I'm going with:

I've always liked this guy as part of the corpse cart and have wanted to do something with him ever since. The entire thing will be used later on as a unit filler and possibly a birthday present for a certain someone. Note the skulls all over- can't tell I've been working a lot on Chaos stuff, can you?

My other entry that I decided not to go with was to take the Chaos Lord on Demonic mount and convert the hell out of him so that he's a very creepy Wight on mount. I did some more looking at the model itself and all the parts in it and a lot of the chaos symbols are so well engraved and sculpted on there that I'm not sure how I'd "erase" them. Who knows, I have two of the model so I might try it anyways. Could be fun.

Quick update, here. I decided to add a bit of a "spell" coming out of the caster's hand by using some miliput and some bits I have around. I think it'll be quite fitting.

Yes, yes, the ugly gap on the cloak. I quickly took some miliput to it and fixed it. It's currently drying.

yes it does look very fitting, I love the dramatic pose it gives the model. As if the model is throwing wizards fire at someone.

Your Hellcannon is really fantastic, it would be nice to some photos of the inside of the barrel. Sorry to hear about your models being swiped, that really is crappy. Keep up the good work!
