I'm not a big fan of this guy so far...he needs something.Usually when I look at your stuff I'm like "Damn!,that looks good." Great paint job,He doesn't POP....I'm only being extra critical because your work is so good,I would be complementing almost anyone else on here for the same job.

I don´t really like the red glow, it makes him look like a cyber soldier. That´s just my oppinion though.
I love the rest of the model, but I just don´t think the red glow fits well with the model.

Mate he is looking immense. Dark and sinister, perfect! How long did he take to do? I'm thinking about investing in an airbrush later this year.

If it where two spots of red it wouls look more like eyes I think. The glow is a little over done IMHO.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback. He's only taken me a few hours to get where he's at, hence why he's now bathing in cleaner so that I can restart him.

I'm going to model him differently and do a conversion overhaul. Personally, I hate the model and there could be so much potential with it. There is way too much, I feel, going on with the model that it's hard to concentrae a focal point on him.

With regards to that, I have some different things in mind for our fellow here that will make him that much better. But in the mean time, I have a ton of guys to work on. My original "to paint list" is going to nearly double, but I'm in a good painting place at the moment where I'm not feeling threatened.

For eyes, they will be a dim yet visible blue or yellow glow and while I do like the idea of a red/brown barren wasteland to have these guys tromping through, I think I will put them from a northern wasteland as per the books. I like the feel of it more so I will now be incorporating more blues and colder colors into my mixes.

I'll post pics tonight as I must prepare my force for a game today.

I already commented on the tutorial in the other thread, but let me say something about your Chaos Warrior / Chosen: He looks great!

Red OSL eyes really give the model the bit of colour it needed. Imo without the red it would look a little dull as the metals are quite clean and the other parts are mostly brown - so no real eyecatcher. With the red though, it's just about right. I'd be curious if you're planning to add more colour - say a specific mark - later on.

The ogre looks completely awesome :happy:. Great work as usual.
I must agree with Desfer however, with a couple of brown stains on the pants it would look a lot more realistic (I don´t see a chaos ogre keep it´s pants clea).
But besides that little point of criticism, I love the work you´ve put into the piece! :thumbsup:

Thanks guys! Actually the pants are highlighted more and such in person, but the photos always negate the work on black cloth and such. I'll take some Mig Pigments here shortly and start working on his pants a bit. Thanks!

No worries :). I used P3 paints on the skin and started from a black undercoat and went to Idrian flesh. From there I added the following colors in a series of lighter and lighter steps: Khardic flesh, Midlund Flesh and Ryn Flesh. To top it all off, I then did a binding wash of GW's Ogryn Flesh and Idrian Flesh to smooth it all out.

Well I have stuff done but haven't been able to update this thread with pictures due to computer problems. My fifth hard drive has failed again and I can't do anything because it's under HP's warranty. Tomorrow I plan to scream at them and they WILL give me a new computer.

Grumble grumble....

Oh the fun of HP. My HP laptop is being serviced due to its constant overheating problem (probably faulty cooling popes)
