At the risk of giving the most clichéd advice ever - thin your paints. I grant it's a less than stellar model, but what detail there is feels entirely overwhelmed by your paint...

I hate leaving negative feedback on a model ('specially since I'm not that good a painter), but I really feel like this paintjob doesn't work...

I feel bad now.

You are right about it feels overwhelmed with the paint; it looks that worse on picture.
my paints are getting very old and might need replacement.
The model looks better from a play view.

I had a look at your other work and like your Necromancer a whole lot more. (Which reminds me, need to post my Necromancers...)

You're right that the main thing is how it looks in-play.

Vladimir is a potent warrior. He has both the Quickblood and Red Fury powers. While he is a competent user of Necromancy, it is not his forte nor his focus. He is only a level 1 wizard. He has collected a significant treasury of magic items, and will use whatever items he deems will be the most useful in battle, frequently bearing a ring of potent protection enchantments (Talisman of Preservation)

Used the head and hands from the terrorgheist set and the backdrop piece from the garden or moor. I was going for a chess like piece with my on foot vamp lords. Each one with its own background piece. Also custom snow which will cover my armies base.

Hmm, actually, two things occurs. First, why the thumbnails? Just post full images, it makes browsing so much easier.

Secondly - and this might be me, but the chap on the throne. His the expression on his face... He looks like he's stoned out of his gourd.

The expression on his face is because he drank a lot of blood I will also try to improve the face expression I am not completely safisfied whit it.

Dang. I was going to post my Vamp BSB and never did get around to it. Thanks for reminding me, Theerteen.

I likes me your banner as it is now, by the by. Not certain it even needs a device on it. I also likes me your vampires deathly white palour. It just feels right to me. Always has.



My BSB takes abit of explaining, and certainly does not fit in the Show us your Banners bit.

A BSB typicaly waves a flag, of course, to inspire the troops. Our troops are dead. They are as inspired as they're going to get, all things considered. Our BSB does not inspire troops, but mitigates Crumble. That is, our BSB should not be carrying a flag, but should provide some kind of magical reinforcement. Should enhance and empower the spells which animate the army.

My BSB, Calliste the Defiler steals souls to animate the dead.

And she stands out easily as much as a normal BSB, which was an important goal.
