@Alabaster427 I like those skulls much better - but I think they could use some fine, white highlights on the most raised areas. The bone rim on the breastplate would benefit from some wash - but maybe you know that and planned to do that already ;) Other than that, great work. Those black bones look awesome!

Yeah. I'm just not sure which wash to use. I used nuln oil first but it made it kinda dingy, so I put another layer of ushabti bone on. I just always have a hard time putting washes on whites.

@Alabaster427 Yeah, washes on very light colors are never easy. One way to deal with it would be to dilute it with Lahmian Medium if you have it - it shouldn't make it as dirty. Alternatively, you can apply the shade selectively, only in the recess parts, like Duncan does on lighter colors - and then clean any uneven edges with the normal layer or drybrush.

As for the colors, I would go for Agrax Earthshade - it has just enough warm tone to fit with the red breastplate and not stand out too much.

For the bone, I went with earth shade, but for neferata, I went with nightshade to match the mount. Just finished today.

@Borgnine The Vargs look pretty wicked, but the kit lacks in the way that they're not interchangeable (except for their heads), so if you've got two kits some converting is required if you don't want them looking too similar.

I've managed to finish five night goblin fillers in February, which have bulked up the units nicely and also added quite a nice change to the overall appearance. I'm back on VC now for a bit now - I'm working on another filler for my 2nd zombie unit and also some other bits & bobs.

@Farmer7574 You're right about those Vargs - that's why I have only 3 of them and don't plan on ever getting more ;) But I guess you can always make some of them fly - that makes larger blocks of them look very good - I've seen some examples on the net and @Theerteen did that too some time ago.

Well, the scheme provides a nice contrast between the colors, and I am a big fan of two colors dividing the model. I used it when I was collecting my CSM, having painted them in black and dark red in half plus golden trim. And a glossy varnish :) but so many similar looking vehicles! you should make them more distinct whenever possible :)

@Shadespyre That's an impressive amount of tanks there, nice work!

I'm in the process of working on a doom diver I've had in the cupboard for a while. Undead-wise, I've got half of the 2nd zombie unit squared away. I'm now putting together some Vargs & doing a colour test for them whilst also working on a winged vampire conversion. Fun stuff! :)

Thanks guys, glad you like them... still *nearly* finished. Now down to putting the tiny squad number on each Marine, which will probably take hours even with decals. Then I think everything I currently have will be completed, though I expect a few extra models to be recruited to fill in gaps in the army... nothing is ever actually finished, is it? ;)
