So atmospheric!
I took a break from painting orcs to, errm, mend some orcs. About 30 orcs with mended knees, replaced weapons or hands, extensive dental surgery or whatever was needed to make them battle ready. You can't be too fussy with 35 year old miniatures.
Next up - painting more orcs!

I am keeping it in sections so that I can build various shaped interiors for different scenes and stories, perhaps using different sides for different cathedrals.
But it dawned on me that if I made a simple roof ...
I could stick four pieces together and make a church for tabletop play ...
Which is good right now as we are to play a battle in a necropolis this Saturday and I need every piece of graveyardy, tomblication, churchifiness I can find.

Working on a fairly quick side project - a little Valentine’s gift for the missus.
Also recently finished the Vargs’ wings (hurray!) and have started putting base coats on as well as putting together Grave Guard.
On the Greenskin front I have a couple of Pump Wagons in the works. Quite a lot on the desk at the moment!

@Farmer7574 Wow, that Valentine's model is beautiful, well done! I hope it was well-received.
Meanwhile, more Brown Orcs but now they have a brown friend or two:
In 1982, "Giant" Wyverns were a bit smaller than they are now...
I've also painted the first GOBLIN for this project, but I finished him late last night so you'll have to wait for a photo (and to see what COLOUR he is)

@Shadespyre That mounted orc is cool, is he a character or part of a cavalry unit? Those orcs are shaping up nicely - definitely an awesome classic feel!

@Farmer7574 I've got two of those guys, I think I'll treat them as low level heroes. A unit would be great but it's a rare and relatively expensive model to buy, so we'll see. I also have a much bigger wyvern to use for my General.

I've got at least a dozen of these vicious little guys to paint, a nice change from all the brown.
On the UNDEAD front, I have picked out a similarly old pre-slotta mini to paint for the new ANCIENT EVIL painting contest. Hopefully a few more people will join in!

@Shadespyre Nice! More classic orcs - great work mate. Also looking forward to what you submit for the Ancient Evil Category.
I've got the first pump wagon done and should have the second one done in a day or so - nice to see some war machines joining the Greenskins army! Crew will come a bit later though as I want to get a VC mini or 6 done next...

I'm getting through this project quite quickly, though I did just realise that I'm going to have to go back and do all the bases and all the standards at some point.
As for the Ancient Evil, a slight change of plans and some conversion work means that some parts of the model will be less Ancient than others. Nearly finished the model but frankly have no idea how to paint it at this point - too many options.

Tried a thing: failed, repainted the whole model.
Tried a much simpler version of the same thing: mostly failed, but I'm going to try to salvage it BEFORE resorting to repainting the whole model...

Finished my Ancient Evil model so it's back to Orcs again - gonna paint up some artillery next.
@brr-icy wow, that's crazy! No wonder you have all those collections, if you can churn them out like a factory

At home I’ve got Vargs still going - the details like eyes, teeth, claws and so on have been finished and I’ve started work on the skin.
At work I’ve got grave guard still being assembled and a rock thrower being painted (in pieces) for my O&G army.
Trying to refrain from doing more O&G projects as my VC really needs some love. Things are moving forward slowly but surely.

Mostly been painting Orcs. Probably 80% done with the army now! I think there will be about another 30-40 infantry models and a handful more cavalry.
Then I've still got to base everything and make and paint the standards, but I'll be looking to wrap this up in the next couple of months, I think.
