Thanks for the comments :D

This update isn't as good, as it's a unit of basic Chariots, but hey, at least all my core are done now xD

aimg684.imageshack.us_img684_9532_tklog82.webp

I took a bit longer than I could have to make them, but it was getting quite boring so I got distracted by other stuff :innocent:

Time for another update! Again it's the same update copied from Tomb-Kings.net, so if you also follow my log there it won't be anything new :p

I don't know if all pics will fit in one post, but here's what I've done for now.

First is my Warsphinx. I posted it before, but now he sport all the 4 crews instead of the previous 2. The initial idea was to cut down the numbe of crews so that I could more easily store and transport the model. But after a few ideas I got while building my 2nd Sphinx, I went back to it and now he's filled with Tomb Guards!

As you can see I made some kind of "leader" in there, because I think it look cool, and because it's much more space-friendly for storage than a spear poking out!

And talking of my second Sphinx, it's also finished;

Thanks to the various members that made a similar pose with their sphinxes. I decided to give it a go too to represent some Thunderstomping action! Making the crews was all kind of fun with the daring commander and the other holding tight on the howdah (I prefer to say "basket" though :P). I was short of 1 crew (who was used in a unit filler for my Tomb Guards), so I had to improvise one with some Charioteer legs, a VC Skeleton torso and making him some greenstuff armor to match the rest of the crews.

Both howdah are magnetized and removable, as I plan to make some kind of platform to put a king in there, and if it come close to what I have in mind, it should be interesting :)

Next I worked on some Ushabti with bows, to get my unit to 6. They are used Finecast Ushabti, they were primed black and painted gold, but paint was nice enough to not need striping. Metal Ushabti can be hard to strip succesfully so risking of breaking them for little benefit wasn't worth it. So I just removed some mold lines and they were ready to go. I also was able to find Finecast bitz on ebay, so I ordered some bows and arms, that way it makes me a unit of 6 with some more variation, wich is nice.

Lastly, a simple character conversion made from the Sphinx kit. I liked the idea of turning him into a Liche as we don't swim in cool Liche models. Staff head is from the metal mounted Liche, and the jar in his hand is a bits from Reaper. The statue on the base is also from Reaper, it's something I ripped off another model and was lying in my bits box. His head is from the Tomb Guard box, I used the crest for some experiment and was left with only the face. I thought it could make a good Liche head, and so was born The Blinded One, or something like that :P

Hope you enjoy!

This is looking seriously epic. I love the army so far and cannot wait to see them all painted. I can only wonder at how many hours of conversion work you have put into it!

Massive respect for the skeleton tortoise. It's a crime not to do it with big shields and a decent sized unit!

Cheers,

u_m

Damn, this army is really just getting better and better! The hierotitan is amazing and all those small changes you are making to most of the models makes this army feel really unique. As untitled_musketeer said, I can't wait until you paint this army up.

Fantastic looking skeletons, and that is some great posing on that warsphynx, really looks like its making a thundercrush attack.

i say, great work on the army. my yellow/red TK's are on a side track :( good to see you are still working on them very hard! nice one!

as far as the blue goes. I would defeneatly spice it up a bit more. Your greens come from a pretty dark to a very light green. it would be good to do this with your blue/purple also. though you shouldn't overdo it because the stone effect might go away. but just a little bit more highlighting wouldnt hurt the blue i guess.

very nice work. great army.
how does it play? like a boss? or is it still hard winning games with the good old shiny bones of khemri?

I simply have to say the Titan and the Testudo (Tortoise) Skeleton unit is just...brillian. Very, very well done!

I'm watching you now. Don't be afraid, but just know I'm there. Always there. Watching. :O

How have I only just refound this thread? Loving the second war sphinx (I know, I'm late) ... But just overall, wow ... Love it!

I posted already but my post got eaten. Anyway, here is what I said:

This thread is the kind of thread that inspires people to start armies. The urge to start Tomb Kings had become deafening in my ears after seeing such wonderful miniatures. You should be proud, good sir. Have a rep.

This plog is brilliant. I'm living how you made use of the Necro Knight kit by sculpting extra snake toros. My favourite piece of all is the Hierotitan, what an amazing conversion. Now go and paint it. I want pictures of this gem soooo badly!

Keep it up!

Looks like I forgot to post some update for my army! I don't know how many pics we can put in a single post, I have quite a bunch to show you!

First up is the 2 Necrotect I made. Pretty basic, using Sphinx crew body with various bits.

Next we have some Liches I made to represent lore of light users, so they all use the same hat and staff top for that purpose:

Liche #1: Body and face from the Corpse Cart rider, the hat from the Empire Wizard kit, and the staff top from the Sphinx kit.

aimg835.imageshack.us_img835_9156_tklog108.webp

aimg534.imageshack.us_img534_3258_tklog109.webp

aimg836.imageshack.us_img836_729_tklog110.webp

Liche #2: Body from the Empire Wizard kit, head from the Sphinx kit (the Tomb King head), and the rest the same as above.

aimg59.imageshack.us_img59_6425_tklog111.webp

aimg840.imageshack.us_img840_4195_tklog113.webp

Liche #3: Body from plastic Necromancer, the head is a Necro Knight champion mask.

aimg100.imageshack.us_img100_9454_tklog116.webp

And the trio together:

aimg813.imageshack.us_img813_7100_tklog117.webp

Following that, I worked on a "count-as" Carrion, using a Reaper Giant Scarab. It's still obviously only a WIP, but it's a bit more advanced now. I've completed a wing and will try to cast it, doing the greestuff on one is super duper long, so if the casting work it would save me a lot of trouble!

aimg42.imageshack.us_img42_783_tklog123.webp

aimg856.imageshack.us_img856_1141_tklog124.webp

Following the update on next post.

After that I worked on some Ushabti.

I first made 4 Ushabti with extra hand weapon, for the variety mostly, I can also mix them with great weapon. Plus they are a bit easier to rank up amongst some great weapon, so it's a bonus!

aimg513.imageshack.us_img513_5061_tklog127.webp

I also made one "at ease". I quite like it turned out, maybe I'll go back later and convert at least another to be like that!

aimg839.imageshack.us_img839_3628_tklog130.webp

With all the work on Ushabti, I can now field a massive horde of them!

aimg528.imageshack.us_img528_606_tklog131.webp

Hope you like!

Hooray for zombie popes ! xD

Great work on all the models, TK's really have some great painting potential. That Ushabti unit is scary as hell :scared:
