Update time!

I did some more Ushabti, one batch of 2 that I didn't posted here yet, and just finished a batch of 4 after that.

And all of the painted Ushabti together;

And for Adam_Barrow, here's the tornado King;

I'm also interested in how you made the tornado, it's incredible :happy: Easily the most realistic wind effect I've seen!

Glad you guys like it :)

How I made it was quite simple. I used a metal rod for the basic shape, then used some 2-part epoxy putty from the hardware store to fill the tornado and scult the basic shape. Then I made the additional prong by pinning a metal rod and more putty. I then cut some excess here and there to get the shape I wanted.

The King inside is removable, he stand on a seperate piece/sand column (also removable) that you can kinda see in the pics, and I never glued them, in case I needed him to be on a 20mm base or something like that. I converted the King to make him look more airborn, so he's pretty much unusable outside of the tornado, but it was quite fun to do :p

Tornado King is too cool, man. Really fun modelling there. I show your plog to people who don't even play Warhammer because I think it's the kinda work that explains some of the obsession. Very well done.

Wow, thanks for that, very flattering :D

A little something I did parallel to the Ushabti:

I'm now waiting some new paints to continue the Ushabti, so in the meantime, I moved to another project: pimpin' my Chariots!

It's a mold I made with Instant Mold and did 2 cast to try it out. Those Chariot's crossbar were annoying me, sitting there on the back of the horses, so I made some kind of saddle/harness for them. As you can see there's a notch on it for the bar to slot in, and so far it's working (all Chariots are already assembled so I hoped it would fit)!

I'll try to cast enough for all my Chariots as I wait for my paints, that's some 24 horses that need an upgrade, so I have some work to do! Maybe I'll try to paint a character or two also between drying time.

Hehe, so you made the sandstorm pretty much exactly like I made the tree in my necromancer diorama then. Good to know the technique works for many things, thanks! Great looking chariot conversion as well, it's a huge improvement over the original :thumbsup:

Yes, pretty much the same technique, but on a smaller scale than your tree :p

For the rest, thanks guy, glad you like it :)

Thanks guys, glad that you appreciate my work :) I finished a unit of Chariots, but don't have my camera to take pics right now, so they'll come later.

@Robtion; I do have a Covent Throne already built and ready to paint, but I'm trying to stay focused on my TK for now and paint as much as I can! I still have a few things I really want to do (like my Sphinxes), but I'm also itching to do some VC units in the (hopefully near) futur!

Update time!

Forgot to post my Chariots once I got the pics, so here they are;

And this month, I decide to paint one of my Warsphinx, think it was time for something different from all the units I've made, a single (big) model was a nice change of pace!

Here he is;

That's it for now! This month I hope to finish to paint my Casket of Souls, so that's probably the next thing you'll see here!

i really like your style Mioum! if i were to complain at something, i would want to see a bit more excitement on the bases. they are a little plain for my taste, but i totally understand if you wanted the totally blank sand-dessert look.

@ Vectra; I will actually add some desert/yellow tuft of grass on all my bigger bases one day, I'm just not in the mood to do that right now! I have them already, so whenever I'll feel like it I'll do them in one batch :p

@ Mad'At; Starting on a black base, I simple used watered down Codex Grey, then Fortress Grey, and Skull White in successive layer (2-3 layer of each depending on how much water I added). I didn't bothered to blend or mix the colors together, only 1 color at a time. The colors being watered down allowed me to still have a relatively smooth transition.
