Does anyone know where to get some cheap Jewelry chain, preferably with the option to buy just a foot? My Mantic order arrived today (As well as 3 more Vargheists), and I want to wrap some chains around the werewolves necks/hands, to make them look like the slaves that they are, as well as make the Dwarven Vampire hold a chain with a severed Wolkin head in his spare hand, since he's kind of like the slave master or ring leader.

Thanks! I'll definitely look into that, but for the time being, I realized I had an extra bit from the second varghesit champion that, with some minor modification, works perfectly with the Dwarf.

I also happened to have a very, very small amount of chain laying around, barley enough to do two wrists, so I got some chain onto a werewolf.

And a Liche priest I painted some time ago, but keep forgetting to take pictures of. Theirs some other small stuff I've yet to take pictures of (Skeleton Standard bearer, My entire Tyranids force, anything Skaven that I've done, small stuff like that), but I'll get around to them.

Two of the three Grand Asps of Khemri (Which still require GS work, I simply ran out mid-project), which will be used as a Bone Giant and a Tomb Scorpion (It should be clear which is which.)

Anyway, I have way too many 50mm bases and nothing too do with them, since the Vargs come with them but need to be ported to 40mm.

Alright, haven't gotten much done since the last post (Holiday season an all, and by that I mean I had to replace a brush and waited a week to get a new one), but if you'll remember this old Hexwraith from some time ago:

I decided I didn't really like that look, figured it was too blue compared to the regular green look most spirits have. So, I applied some shades, and now it looks far better IMO, but I'm thinking of adding some Camoshade and a bit of Wawatcher Green glaze to really add to the effect.

I've also thought that, hey, I should probably paint Nagash. I quickly suppressed such heretical thoughts by buying new things, so I'll be using this Cryx Helljack as a sort of test for Nagash's armor, since I cant bring myself to jump right into painting him without knowing at least a bit of what I'm doing.

Anyone know where I can find some good piles of gold? I know its relatively easy to make coins with green-stuff, but considering I'd need enough to fill a terrorghiests base, I'd like to find an alternative.

Oh, and this
Valdros Statue.webp

Just some minor conversion work on a Warsphinx kit I got for Christmas (Along with a Tbat and a TK Battalion), couldn't decide which to build out of the kit (The Necro looks awesome, but I needed a Warsphinx in the army), and since I didn't have any magnets, I just made it into both at once. I call it the Jade Corsair (Since the stone bits are going to be painted like jade, and the metal will be silver)

.
I'm going to stick a Tomb King (Not the one in the box, since that just looks... off when on the Sphinx. I'm probably going to use GWs sword and shield one) on to the Howdah (Which I shouldn't have glued on), and maybe GS some flames coming from its tongue to represent Fiery Roar.

Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:

Warwitch Deneghra, not sure if she's done (Aside from the base, which I'm going to try something that isn't just a desert base like the others, maybe a toxic swamp), I can't think of what to do next but some reason it still looks incomplete to me.

Decided to ditch the old Mordheim stuff and do a pirate theme for the campaign (I have a week till it starts), the old one just felt too.... generic.
This one is an Ogre Body Guard/Zombie Ogre (I know I'm fighting Ogres, so if I roll a 6 for spells this will be handy)

If he's gonna be a body guard, he needs a name, though. Suggestions?

Changed the title, since now the Tomb kings and VC are technically the same army, I just merged the two, and stuck the Bloodborn buccaneers on it.
First of my actual Mordheim models (Restarted the warband for the actual campaign), a dreg named Ed, the Pirate monkey

A rather fluffy and thought out army this, I'd worry about all these different miniature vendors different looks working together and must admit I'd not choose some of em, but its all looking pretty cool so far.

I do think that the monkey could do with a tail though.

Hadn't actually occurred to me that monkeys have tails, for some odd reason. Had I thought of it I may have sculpted a tail for him, though probably not, considering my other GS attempts haven't gone too great, for the most part.

The ghouls where mostly just a test of "Piratifying" models, using some old Mantic ghouls I've had sitting around for quite some time, that I figured maybe I'd actually use if they turned out good, considering I don't actually know what to do for ghouls (Thinking of going reaper, since all the heros are from there). Though, really looking at them, they're actually quite a bit bigger than the rest of the models (Who all fit together decently enough, aside from one dreg who turned out a bit messed up due to a GS accident, but he's cheap and easy to replace), and I'm not a really a fan of mantic ghouls (Hence why they where chosen for testing), so I'm probably just going to shove them back in the box and pretend they never happened.

Older brother moved out recently, and left all his Warhammer stuff to me, and while scrounging around his room I found an unbuilt box of Free Company. I figured they looked piratey enough, and with a little creative posing and minimal kitbashing, I turned them into zombies.

Not really sure its clear enough that they're all zombies, but the majority look fine IMO, and everything looks better than the mantic ones above. Still got 9 more freecompany (One was turned into Pascal the Warlock after I realized Gandalf was too short), so I might make ghouls from the kit too. Thinking Ghouls will just be drunken pirates using shattered bottles as weapons, if I can get them to look visually distinct enough that they aren't confused for Zombies (Should be easy, as Zombies will have a green tint to their flesh, ghouls wont.)

Oh, and some pictures of a Skaven Warlord. Some reason my camera refuses to focus on him, so these are the only shots I managed to get.

Decided against warpaint on him, mostly because I couldn't quite figure it out (I'd generally just dry brush it on, but that did't work on Gobo)

Thanks Vashra! Hopefully his size doesn't cause any problems in-game, since he's about half the size of the other Dregs.

Not sure what to do with Ala'Dien. I had a model for him, but when I started painting it became fairly clear that the greenstuffing I'd tried on him didn't work, as the hood covers most of his face and just looks off around the chest area.
DSCN6600.webp
DSCN6603.webp

He was only $2 from reaper, so its not a big loss, but I do need to figure something else out for him. I may just make one out of the Freecompany Kit, as I've already done the ghouls and a few Brethren/Possessed from it with a few bodies left, though making it look Arabic would be hard.

The free company sprues are versatile, indeed. I like what you've done for your pirate ghouls, just make sure to get rid of those big, nasty mould lines on the arms. :)

For your goblin, you can keep a normal-sized miniature around for LoS purposes. It's what I do for my child-sized vampire and I haven't had any complaints yet.

Of course, the Mouldlines and greenstuff lumps are going to be dealt with before priming.

I suppose I'll just use the failed Ala'Dien model for general scale purposes, since he's not being used for anything else

Finally got around to doing Dhenegras base, I like how it turned out so I guess the rest of my Cryx will be done this way, with maybe some minor changes

Those two are nasty, quite fitting for zombies.

If I were you I'd try applying a light wash of some dark tone to bring out the features in their faces, although it might just be the pictures that seem to obscure it.
