I WON AN AWARD???? WTF!!!
OK so I just checked out the thread (which to be honest I was not even aware of) and apparently it's true. I won the best painting log of 2009 award which is a huge honour! Thank you everyone who voted or whatever. I would have thought that my overlong absence would have turned people off but apparently we blood drinkers have good memories of the good old days when I would post updates twice a day.
Well work has been stessfull of late (they laid off three people today despite the fact that every department is buried in too much work).
And I'm a young D.I.N.K* in New York City so there is always partying to be had, places to be, beer to be drunk etc, etc.
So working hard and playing hard has kind of got in the way of relaxing hard. Hobbies have fallen a little to the wayside. I have not painted anything since
September 19th 2009 I haven't even made any chain-maille since July 3rd 2009. I mean I have had other things on my plate. I am going to a Steam-Punk themed wedding in the summer of 2010 so I have been busy piecing together clothing and props for that.
But mostly of course I have just been lazy. Like... seriously lazy.
But I have been thinking all this time. Constantly adding to the fluff pile in my brain. Drawing maps and pictures. Designing new units for my army. So I have been purchasing bits and pieces. I bought the Skaven Plague Furnace / Doom bell to make an awesome corpse cart conversion.... Which never happened. I bought parts to make a tomb guard themed unit of grave guard to act as personal protection for my Lahmian vampire (which I have now decided to include in my force after all) and that will go ahead as soon as I have enough tomb king chariot crew parts for a decent sized unit. And I built a prototype for my Skeletal Berserkers Which I am only 90% happy with:
The axe shaft is a little too long and I would prefer some kind of variation on the standard axehead. Anyone who has any suggestions on this front please speak up.
From now on I am going to try to update at the very least once every week. Also I am going to polish some art work up so that I can get something published in The Invocation because seriously that would be a crowning moment. So I will hopefully see you all again really soon.
May the blood never cease flowing,
Seth
