Thanks for the comments.

@Oblivi: Glad to not disappoint. No masking tape. The patterns are freehanded.

@jediguru: Thanks. I got the idea initially when reeding the fluff actually, the part about ancient strigoi vampires caught my interest. Makes me glad I'm not the only one who thought there could be a better representation for that than the current model.

@Yorga: I thank you for your kind words. Hadn't even noticed the reps were gone, but thanks for the gesture.

@Von Calyptra: Thanks for the comment. You'll probably not have to wait that long for the banshee, hopefully I'll finish her tomorrow, so pics on Saturday perhaps. There was some peer pressure exerted in the chat, and then Pigeoneater posted a pic of his hand in his own plog. One thing led to another and here we are non the wiser.

@Shadespyre: You mean Ludmila? You've must have scrolled way back my friend. Glad she can still inspire though.

Love the bretonnian zombie, nice colours all around, the eyes turned out great. The scrolls on the other two are awesome, I don't know how you do that. xD The giant is coming along nicely, like both of his armguards, especially the shield. ^^

Amazing work as usual, sometimes I feel I can learn a thing or two about painting just by looking at your miniatures. ;)

Hot damn, your force is so inspirational! Between this and nagash I seem to have been pulled back in after selling all my workshop stuff. On the plus side though I will buy one unit at a time to paint

@Raven Torrid: Thanks. The secret of freehand is good hand support. Make sure you can rest your hands on something and don't try to paint it mid air.

@Lord Commander Eidolon: Thank you for your kind words. I'm very glad to have inspired you. Hope you have fun getting back into the hobby.

Another week has passed and it is time to show you guys what it more I've completed. First up is the 2nd Zombie unit. You've seen this one before but I have now finished the standard bearer:

And two close ups of the book he is holding. Sadly I forgot to take a pic of the cover of the book, maybe next time.

Next up we have the 3rd zombie unit, the giant's unit ( :siren: hear that 13, I finally painted him :P )

Some close ups of the giant.

After that we got some close ups of some of the zombies in his unit, plus a few unnumbered ones.

Next are the Dire wolves. Gotta pay my thanks to @Von Calyptra for the conversion inspiration, and to @Mr Saturday and @InkubPendragon for paint scheme inspiration. Had a look at your wolves in the Show Us thread when I started painting mine own.

And finally, to finish it all off, here is my Banshee.

Been one hell of a week. I might actually be able to finish in time if I keep this up.
C&C much appreciated :D

Great job as always. I like the zombie who is about to start climbing over the right shoulder giant. Gives a great feel of movement in the unit. My favorit could be the 'duelist' zombie. Too bad we can't have zombie champions. Imagine tying up a greater demon in a challenge with a zombie. I can't understand the effort you put into these 3 point models. Good job on the banshee also.

Yaay! Tits!
Err.... i mean tips, on freehanding:perv:

Poypul turned out pretty awesome. Pidgey should be proud :D

Glad to see the violinist and 'swamp-thing' gotten paint too, never thought swampy to be that cool, but i was certain you could make use of him.

Also, finally, Master of Puppets, my favourite of your zombiebuilds, and with old-school metallic(a)s too boot.

Great work Mad'at! There's so much detail and love in these models that words are insufficient.

On a sidenote, are my eyes just blurry from the awesomeness, or are those fingerprints on the lense of your camera? The bigger pics have a somewhat messy look on them.

Thanks for the comments, they all help to keep me motivated :)

@Sanai: Glad you liked the colours, though as Melle said, Pidgey deserves a bit of the credit.

@ObliviJohn: I really wish we get zombie champions in some future book, would be awesome. And if we do I feel well prepared ^^
Keep in mind also that most of these zombies aren’t even 3pts guys, more like 0pts since they don't start the battle on the table ;)

@Melle: Always saw him more of a scarecrow than a swamp thing. Though I am pleased with how he came out, thanks for sending him over, hopefully his brother too will turn out alright.

@Mr Saturday: Wasn't too hard to get it to rank up, though having a unit filler spreading over several non connected bases was a bit tricky. What's really hard though is removing the giant filler from the unit, there are so many zombies leaning over his base, and in turn his tree cover those zombies so I can't even remove those beforehand :P

@Emicrania: I used an 'Insane Detail' brush from Army Painter. Very useful purchase.

@Raizi: Thanks for the kind words, and as I said in the chat, welcome back to the forums :)
Looking at it I think it's dust on the lens, though either way I should clean it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Another update, this time without anything painted though. Just thought I'd show you what's going on at my construction table atm.

And of course, it's mainly about zombies, here's a bunch:

And to top it all off here is a picture of the current state of my Wight King BSB. He is pretty much ready for painting.

Now I just have to get some paint on all of these guys. Not many days left and school is starting before that :cautious:

C&C appreciated as always.

What is that white material you use for the banner and where can one get it from?

Gives me zem answerments!

Nice work BTW, as usual.

The quality, and variety, of zombies in this thread is amazing. I always thought that the (now very old) zombie figures were somewhat limited in what you could do with them (I made a lot into zombie pirates for the old Luthor Harkon WD list) but what you've done here shows that there are so many different ways to create unique and interesting ones. I wish I had seen some of these ideas back when I was modelling mine!

@ObliviJohn: Yea, this WK is a long way from stunty, he is twice as tall as most of my zombies. The vulture on top of the cage is from TK Tomb Guards, he's supposed to soar above their banner.

@Raizi: Thanks. The white material is plastic card, 0.1 mm thick. I cut out the shape I want and then bend it by holding it with boiling water. A bit tricky but you get it right after a few tries. You can in fact bend the normal GW plastic the same way.

@padrissimus: Glad you liked them. And it's never too late to make more zombies, there is always need for more ;)

I thought I already had enough ...

[Image will go here if permitted]

... but if you say I need more, then so be it. (This image lifted from my very, very old illustrated battle story at http://warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=23162.msg287791#msg287791 ).

EDIT: Just thought, it might be bad etiquette to put one's own image on someone else's thread. If not, please do tell me and I will re-edit accordingly.

I thank you for asking, and tbh I would preference if you kept it as a link or an attachment as it is now. I've found that it can be confusing when other people's work appear in a plog.

That's a mighty zombie horde you got there though, but I'm sure you can spice it up a bit more if you wanted to ;)

Scrolled through that battle story too. Seams like a lot of text, but looks interesting. I'll keep the link so I have something to read in the future.

I want my plog to be yours when it grows up. So much inspiration here... it's like looking at a catalogue of all the minis I'd love to turn into zombies if only I had a neverending reserve of time and patience. Thanks for the motivation.

Very nicely done. I am so glad to see someone who takes such interest in the zombies. I just can't bring myself to do any yet. For that matter, the only models I've done for my VC are mainly characters. Can't wait to see more.
