@benvoliothefirst: Glad to provide it. May your plog prosper and bloom :)

@Wolfrahm: Thanks. There is nothing quite like the freedom of a zombie. More you shall have ;)

@Von Calyptra: Thanks, I'm very glad you like it. The Wight King is based on some 'Undead Lord with Sword' by Hearbreaker Hobbies, I got it off eBay but Dark Rose was kind enough to tell me where it's from a few pages back. I gave it a head made from the banner top of the Empire Knights. Banner top is from the a Chaos Marauders banner top, with the horns shaved off. The small skull at the end of the banner is from Empire Flagellants, and the purity seal on the pole from some Space Marine kit. the Sword in his belt I have no idea about, got it in a bitz box I bought. The right arm is from the 6th edition skeletons, which is also the reason to why I sculpted the arm in the first place. And don't have the CT, but even if I did the arm would be way too small. The arms (and heads) of the 6th edition minis were much larger, which fits perfectly for this guy because he is huge. Problem was that the 6th edition skeleton kit had no left arms in the pose I wanted. Further more it turned out that the left arms it had were much much smaller than the right arms. Only option I saw was to sculpt it on my own. It wasn’t too hard, mainly because it is so big. Considering your GB entry I don't think you'd have much trouble doing something similar ;)

Now it's time for another update. The corpse cart is all painted up!
Check it out.

I also decided to do some touch ups on the old corpse cart (that I will also bring to the tournament). You can check out how it looked before on the first page of this plog.

Then to finish off I've got a batch of zombies that have been painted since last time:

That flame :o I will use this as a reference when trying my own light source flame thingies. Great work as always.

Thanks, and sure thing.

First I base the whole things white. I use black undercoat so I do this by putting on two layers of Astronomican Grey, followed by two coats of Skull White.
Then I started highlighting (highdarking), first with a bit Yriel Yellow mixed in with the white. I mixed in Yriel Yellow in another coat, taking it up to almost pure yellow. Then I mixed in Scorpion Green, and another coat with pure Scorpion Green. Followed by mixing in Snot Green, up to pure Snot Green, and then the same thing with Dark Angles Green followed finally by pure Abaddon Black. What's important is to highlight upwards, you want the top of the flames to be darker. You also do a bit of picking out the high ends, but that comes in second place really. White should only be visible at the source of the heat.

@robtion & @jediguru: Thanks :) Can't take all the credit for the conversion though. Most of that goes to @Adam_Barrow, who made pretty much the same conversion ages ago.

@Melle: Glad you liked the woodgrain effect. I've been working a lot with it lately and I really feel I've got the hang of it. So much that I feel I really can combine sculpted wood with freehand wood as I please. It feels great to have that freedom, before I was always hesitant to combine it.

Another update. With less than a week now to the tournament.

What I've been working on is of course Zombies, but also my BSB. I'll start you of with my test drawing for banner design.

Next I'll show you the latest batch of 5 zombies

Only around 15 left built but unpainted. I doubt I'll be able to finish them all in time but we will see.

Moving on to the test painting I did of the banner. Really useful to do these as you get a better idea of the placement of everything. Plus you have something you can test out minor ideas on (like different hairstyles).

And then, finally, the BSB in all his glory. I'm really proud of this guy :)

Nice going, having a BSB like that would make me bring one always. Just for the psychological game against the opponent. Good job on sticking to the theme. Nice touch with the frame to it. I think I recognize that sword ;) (still sheated o.O ;) )

Thanks for the comments guys :)

@ObliviJohn: You do? Recognize the sword that is. I have no idea where it from myself, got it in a bitz pack I brought from Tradera. I'm glad you liked the frame, I think it adds a lot too. It also ties it closer to the army since the GG banner has a similar frame.

I love this army so much
There's so much character and individuality in those zombie units to supplement a whole army, seriously fantastic work. Also great work on that BSB the free hand is brilliant!

Hey all, and thanks for the latest comments.

The tournament was last weekend, and I had a ton of fun there. I've written up battle reports for all the 5 games I played there, you can read them here.

I'll post some of the pictures I took here too.

There were also two painting competitions there. The first one was for best painted model, I entered my BSB, here you can see some of the other entries:

Sadly the pictures did not turn out so good from that, took them in a hurry. The last model, the flying chariot of Santa Claus, was especially awesome. Though nothing that can be seen in a picture. He had mounted speakers in the house under it, linked via Bluetooth to his cellphone, so it flew around the battlefield literally blasting Christmas music (gamewise it was a hunter on Stonehorn). The competition was won by the beautiful green dragon.

The other was for Best Painted Army, here you can see all the contestants:

Third place went to the snowthemed OnG army with the walrus in the middle. Second place to the stunning Wood Elf army. And first place I took home myself. I'm immensely proud of that, and really happy that people took the time to check out my army up close.

Will take better pics of my whole army shortly. Cheers.
