He is insane in combat. With easy access to healing he is an army in himself.

My point about not being able in normal warhammer is regarding his 1000 points price tag which means you cannot take him outside 4k games... and 4k is by no means normal.

The same can be said of Vampire Lords on Zombie Dragons with the proper magical loadout, so its nothing new to VC players.

A Vampire Lord on a Zombie Dragon can be fitted insinde 625 points?

To use him effectively you really need a 3k point army or more. Squeezing a Zombie Dragon into 2500 means no Master Necro, and making a hard choice between Magic levels on your only Lords choice or proper powers/gear. The only practical way to really field a ZD is 3k or 4k points.

Apparently the Undead Legions List is Vampire Counts and Tomb Kings in one list (as expected really), just waiting to see if the Spell get leaked...

There's a mistake in his rules.. He is a Level 5 wizard who can use 6 power dice to cast a spell... How does that work? surely its 7....

or am I getting my editions mixed up?

Looks like we might be getting some new Units on top of the already extent VC and TK, as it mentions "Morghasts"... anybody any ideas on them? Are they already in TK?

Wow... Imagine VC with a shooting phase! Skelly archers! Yaaaaay! I must admit the Necropolis Knight and Tomb Guard models are ace as well but I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable fluff/theme wise.

Sounds like Nagash can raise up absurd amounts of troops around him as well. I wonder how the new Mannfred will compare to his pevious incarnations...

The actual Nagash model does have seriously cool elements, the soul swarm around him and the spinal column appendages out his back. But overall I'm not so sure. First off I think he IS too big. In the Rise of Nagash, as a mortal he IS described as being of imposing height, taller than most, without taking the 8ft Ushabti into account, so he would be 7ft tops I think. I don't know why becoming a master necromancer would INCREASE his size? Personally something the size of a Dreadnought would be more than enough. I'd rather see him in some kind of epic diorama type base, using scenery to make him taller, say perched atop a ruined obelisk with his robes spreading around him in wind, and using clouds of scarabs as well, which is all true to fluff.

Sounds like there's a lot more to this as well. New models for Tomb Kings, Skaven, Chaos and Dark Elves plus the character models for VC mentioned (looking forward to seeing Neferata, might be a must for my fluff...) and a plastic spirit host kit.

His Size was due to Warpstone, but he is a Demi God so I really don't feel size is all that important... There are a few things I like the idea of in from a mixed army, more for thematic reasons than anything else.. Bone Giants, Skeleton Archers, Skeleton Chariots, Screaming Skull Catapults... Now what will be interesting is if the Army counts as one and characters can be swapped around within it... Stick a prince or a King in a Unit and you get WS5-6 now that's starting to make them resilient.

from what I have heard, Morghasts is some kind of monster dual kit that can be used as a mount.

Also, as you can see in Nagashs rules (about Nagashs instability mitigation stacking with the effect from Morghasts) Morghats mitigate instability wounds.

Oh crap I forgot, he's a monster he has a Stomp Attack as well, that's brutal... So to field him, along with the queen, Mannfred and Arkhan.. How many points do you think I will need...???

well assuming that the queen costs the same as Mannfred for arguments sake (she probably costs more due to her rumoured mount) thats 2420 points of lords, so......

its-over-9000.webp

Well that's not too savage... If I call it 12000 to be safe then I can play around with some other Character Choices... Being as I can pull in troops from two Armies, it's pretty doable.. I will need a lot more Skeletons, with bows and normal... now the trick will be making the Bowmen.. I by far prefer the VC Skeletons to the Ancient Tomb King ones so I will need to make them all of the same aesthetic, for the Chariots it will be a simple case of model swaps which keeping the chassis... Screaming skulls were awesome models though are they finecrap? Bone Titans though I think make sweat from a donkeys balls look appetising by comparison so that's another conversion there. I will need to take a closer look at the big pussy Cats, the statue guys are all Fine crap as well aren't they... hmm

If done right this army could look AMAZING and its my Dream Army.. I also have about 6000 points of Vampire counts sitting in the polythene still so I am off to a good start... Ghost hordes, Wrath's, big Arsed Crypt Horrors and my some Angels converted into reapers for Vargheists.. hmm so many..

Still not sure how Nagash is going to deal with Cannon spam though....

WOW how much of the Tomb Kings Army is in Finecrap... that sucks.. Carrion I forgot them, and the Snakes of coolness...

Depends on what his spells can do. Prop him up with a couple of Mortis Engines and blast the enemy artillery to bits with his insane magical power?

Copy/Pasted from Warseer forums...

Well I for one am a very, VERY happy "undead" player.

My 4th edition Undead Army Book is sitting right here next to me, and as I rifle through it I'm reminded of how I got started with the undead in the first place. It's a great time to be a Warhammer player.

The model is a bit different from my expectations, but also very, very cool. Me likey.

I LOVE that they've made him very similar to his 4th ed. incarnation. (Pun intended!) And holy crap! Level FIVE?!?! The Kroak/Teclis players must be FUMING... I'll try not to gloat too much.

Hehehe.

Hehehehahahaa.

MWAH-HA-HAA-HAAA-HAAAAAA!!!

I can't wait for whatever form all this stuff takes. End times campaign, undead book, whatever. Christmas has come early! All hail the Lord of Undeath!!!

I'm so happy, I'm nearly crying. His model looks fantastic. His rules (the half of them I've seen) look amazing. The old undead were my first army, and they've finally returned. Looks like I'll finally have that motivation to work on warhammer fantasy that I've been missing for the past year or so.

Actually, wouldn't he get Thunderstomp for being monster?

It says he can use up to 10 dice to cast a spell (6 normal and up to 4 additional from his storage)

I have to admit I did not expect GW to make Nagash that powerful, however, I am extremely happy that they did. As for the model, I love it. Love it, love it, love it. Even for someone who barely plays the game anymore this model is going to look good as a centerpiece for my collection.

Bit let down by his armour and ward save but apart from that I like him.
I just hope though he is not usable in regular warhammer any extra models with his release are.

Well that is on top of a T7, and the fact that he has 7 wounds and can heal with magic :)
