I've been wanting to get back into Warhammer after a loooong break. Always loved both undead and Dark Elves. This seems like the perfect opportunity for me to get started. Undead Darks Elves it is!

Wow.... just wow. I had heard about this, but still wow.. :o

You know that GW have sucked all the life out of you, and you don't have any energy, mental facilities, patience, money or time (what, with so much tv to watch and keep up on, music, work, friends, and porn) left when you hear this news and your reaction is 'oh great, another storm of chaos, not going to waste my time again..' (wanted to do a Cult of Slaanesh army, was glad I was too lazy when I found out they did away with the SOC rules not long after the campaign ended).

Happy to hear they are doing a new Neferata model, being Lahmian through and through way back when we had bloodlines, but that's it. I mean, any army now can field undead units? Well then what the fuck is the point in playing undead??!! I haven't touched a paint brush in around 8 years, still have a black coach in it's shrink wrap as well as other models in their blister cases.. will still play every few months with a group of friends where it tends to be 500 pts to 1,000 pts armies for four players on the one field randomly generated scenario games for fun with mates.. but you can only take so much of GW trying to turn WHFB into a dumbed down version like 40K and to give you less but make you pay more. I mean $96 for a Coven Throne, $70 for the army book, $165 for Blood Knights, $83 for Fell Bats, $69 for Grave Guard, $79 for Crypt Horrors, $140 for the triumph and treachery book (had never heard of that one until today, it's been awhile), $124 for the BRB... there is a very good reason that I haven't got any of them and the books and models I have are from previous, earlier editions, up to the last edition to the current one.. because GW are a bunch of greedy kents and a huge rip off!! Actually I lie, I just found a corpse cart, still in it's shrink wrap, and blisters of the female vampire and konrad, I think my friends must have given me GW vouchers for my birthday when the last VC release happened... still, it's a bloody rip off! I mean, the black coach I have in the shrink wrap I got at a GW store when I first started playing for $50 and they now want $90 for the same friggin' model!! Are you kidding me??! :mad2:

Sorry guys, I know these new models and campaign and rules are very exciting, but I'm done. Until GW realize that the way to improve your business is to take care of your players and not try to find every which way to get more money out of them with making things terribly over priced while at the same time nerfing their chosen army and dumbing the game down, they can go and get fucked.

How do kids nowdays afford to take up the hobby? No wonder it is suffering, though I guess they don't have to pay for rent and bills and groceries etc.

Anyways... I don't have the time or the energy to go through 13 pages on this thread, have they released any pictures/artwork of the new Neferata model and if so which page is it on?

Sorry for the rant... I'll be back when I'm rich... :grave:

I think they have been removed from like every site by now but I also think @Duke Danse Macabre said that he had downloaded them. So maybe ask him for the pic(s).

Calm down this isn't warseer  I don't think I am allowed to post pictures, so I'l just be a douche and say google it.

I am sure many of us disagree with you on many levels here, but I'l just put it out there that GW's new methods of producing miniatures is likely to cost a lot more than they did "back in the day".
While I agree they are still milking us I disagree that they "aren't caring about us".

And who buys stuff from GW anyway  After starting a chaos dwarf army I now buy everything from china, and mantic. And blood knights are dragon knights, with different painting schemes  (it's not something to be proud of I'm just saying WHFB is still affordable).

Regarding the lore of undeath it looks like it is going away after the campaign? According to warseer you can summon allmost anything undead, from black knights to terrorgheists.

If nagash is supposed to summon his own army in the battle report, there must be an uber summoning spell otherwise he will be raising skeles or zombies with raise dead. Plus he could only use each spell once per turn.

We should do a sweepstakes to see who gets nagash turned into a toad first with that scroll. Lol

Uno mas, my friend. Just one more day (at least for Nagash). I think we have to wait for September 8th issue for the lore...

I've said this before: Nagash wants to kill the living, which would also kill anybody who happens to need to drink living blood in order to survive. Any vampire in their right mind should fight against Nagash.

Easy fix. He can work on a potion that will stall the blood requirement. That, or he ransacks Caledor and they all take a dragon.

One of Nagash's special rules allows him to triple the amount of models summoned when successfully casting a summoning spell from Lore of Undeath. He also always starts with Ryze - the Grave Call from Lore of Undeath, which is supposedly a summon undead spell. So, yeah, child's play.

In the battle report in visions, or mini WD they gave him an extra rule apparently.
If a TK unit charges his they switch sides on a 4+, 5+ for heroes, 6+ for lords/Settra.

According to warseer.

I'll take that with a scoop of mortuary salt.

OK, so I was reading though the bits about manfred and his capturing the future everqueen to sacrifice in order to bring back Nagash. Now its quite cool as you get bits of the story from different sources to gather the whole picture. In the 8th Vampire counts book this story is given a little more importance (understandably) and was even put in that months edition of white dwarf (should have twigged something was up as Gw giving away new fluff seems odd).

But this is where I am confused, on page 18 where the story concluded there is a text box titled Nagashizzar, where it states without any room for misinterpretation that Nagash sits in his Audience chamber awaiting for the time to strike... SO why the hell are both manfred and Arkhan trying to resurrect him, my word two statements on the same sodding page saying different things! Now as far as i was concerned Nagash was resurrected on the Night of the Restless dead but since the 4th edition book there has been no evidence of this. So I have to ask what the hell is going on there!!!

Not the first time GW has crossed their legs with fluff changes

@crimsonsun I think he has been resurrected since thriller night, but he sort of needs his "magic crutches", and a nice meal to be able to stand up.

Could be that his spirit isn't tied to his body and that's what the ritual will do. Think for all the answers we will have to buy the novel and the new army book/fluff Bol.

Yeah only a week to wait, I thought the spirit thing but it says he is 'Sitting' in his throne which would be an odd turn of phrase for a spirit. I just couldn't believe the contridictions would be poised on the same sodding page, do they not have editors?

It would be funny if the death of the high elf chick auto-summoned nagashs hand back

First of all, this is GW, they don't even do market research.

secondly, His reconstructed cadaver could be sitting in his throne, spirit hovering somewhere near by but unable to enter and motivate it.

The entry doesn't contradict anything. It's essentially as marcus says.

"Within his audience chamber, at the height of the peak, the husk of Nagash sits on his throne of skulls." (emphasis mine)

While Nagash is functionally immortal, his body is not; it's a withered corpse that requires reconstituting. His spirit is separated from the mortal realm and Mannfred's sacrifice combined with Nehekaran rituals are meant to summon forth that spirit to repossess the physical body.

Ba-bam. What we are dealing with is your archetypical liche that has had his physical body destroyed a few times.

It for some reason took me reading it three times to see the word Husk, its my dyslexia I tend to miss words that are not essential in understanding the sentence (though you could argue that the word Husk was critical to what the sentence is saying it is not critical to comprehension of the paragraph), so I apologise for raising a completely needless point. :D
