The vaults of winter are some caverns set in the grey mountains on the edge of Athel Loren.
They supposedly contain daemons.

Thanks, that helps alot.

@ dude who was talking about multiple TK's. In the previous fluff, several cities major character kings basically beat the others into submission or killed them in intercine warfare. So power by being the strongest, essentially.

Would love to see Maldred of Mousillon reintroduced... perhaps being raised as one of Nagash's lieutenants?

Also when did they stop doing battlereports with the diagrams of unit movements turn by turn? The batrep in this weeks WD was sorely missing it. Would have made it five times better and much easier to understand if you could see all the units in relation to each other.

GW describes the end times as something like an expansion pack, rather than a temporary campaign. They keep saying it's the future of warhammer. We'l see. I don't think anyone has a real answer.

Can the Undead Legion be played in normal games? or is it only for the End Times Campaign?
So far, it looks like just End Times, but who knows what 9th edition will bring?

I was reading through it and the rules for Nagash's staff say that you cannot use dice that were stored in the same magic phase, but on Undead Legions Turn 1, it says that Nagash calls on the power in his staff to get a cast result of 35. How is this, since Nagash went first? Does the scenario call for him to already have four dice in it? Sure he could 6-dice it with five 6s and a 5, but that seems unlikely considering the verbiage. The BatRep is very poor indeed.

That was years ago. Battle reports in WD has been shit basically since '06 or somethinh

True that. Although I have a bat. rep. from 2013 with said movement. But still they're not half as good as the common infrequent youtube or forum bat. rep. which is a shame!

"They keep saying" is an understatement, damn. It was on every page almost in the WD, it is in most of the entries on the new books and model on the webpage. Well I'll enjoy it while it lasts if the changes are permanent, great. The lore needed to be pushed forward. I am all for artistic freedom but going back to status quo for for the umphtiest time is just plain annoying.

How do people feel about the combined monstrous mounts as a future? I can't see them doing it honestly. It would mean each version of the character would need it's own seperate statline, and some characters have 3 or 4 different mounted options. Either that or drastically reduce flexibility of characters....

I don't like it for a few reasons:

1) A character riding a horse may have higher Initiative than an opposing character riding a dragon, but with combined stats, that essentially means that the horse is going before the dragon.

2) Instead of them giving different options, it would likely go to "If you want to take this character, this is the only way that you can." Especially if this is "The future of Warhammer," I see this as very likely. Granted, it makes CC much easier, but...

3) It means that it doesn't matter if you are on a horse or a dragon, which eliminates some of the key differences that would take place in a normal battle.

4)It means that you can't kill one without killing both. If a SGK is on a TG, and the TG gets killed, you still have the character, and vice versa; If they both die at the same time, it will be much more costly.

Furthermore, if you model Nagash wielding his Mortis sword, does he still have use of his staff?

1) This totally depends on how they will make the statlines. Maybe the horse is faster than the dragon, the dragon will still mash the horse.

2) How often would this be a problem. Really? Seems like GW is trying their best to eliminate options that don't have models mainly by producing said model. Don't think it will happen though. If a TG were to be mounted on a SKG, would all the attacks get Infinite hatred? The whole model getting 4+ ward save at even higher toughness. They would have to drastically reduce the versatility of monsters/riders which isn't what GW seems to be doing.

3) Agreed, see above.

4) That it would but it would enhance the models protection against cannons and the like.

All in all I only see it being done on special characters that are mounted on monsters. Not generic lords getting this combined statline. It would mess up the game too much.

He does, but sword wielding nagash would look awkward with the staff on his back.
Probably. Maybe you could plant it in some rocks nearby on his base or having it floating around like his books. Or ejecting forward from his pelvis. I mean, it is somewhat phallic looking and I'm sure he would taunt his opponents in such a manner...

It would make him far more sinister, floating towards your army chanting 'stiffy's gonna get ye, stiffy's gonna get ye'
