The vaults of winter are some caverns set in the grey mountains on the edge of Athel Loren.
They supposedly contain daemons.
What is the link with the newer rumors about the green knight, etc? I don't see what some of you are talking about.
Might want to put a spoiler tag around that for people who don't want to know that -- can you post the source of this rumor?
So far, it looks like just End Times, but who knows what 9th edition will bring? Can the Undead Legion be played in normal games? or is it only for the End Times Campaign?
Also when did they stop doing battlereports with the diagrams of unit movements turn by turn? The batrep in this weeks WD was sorely missing it. Would have made it five times better and much easier to understand if you could see all the units in relation to each other
That was years ago. Battle reports in WD has been shit basically since '06 or somethinh
GW describes the end
times as something like an expansion pack, rather than a temporary campaign. They keep saying it's the future of warhammer. We'l see. I don't think anyone has a real answer.
How do people feel about the combined monstrous mounts as a future? I can't see them doing it honestly. It would mean each version of the character would need it's own seperate statline, and some characters have 3 or 4 different mounted options. Either that or drastically reduce flexibility of characters....

I was reading through it and the rules for Nagash's staff say that you cannot use dice that were stored in the same magic phase, but on Undead Legions Turn 1, it says that Nagash calls on the power in his staff to get a cast result of 35. How is this, since Nagash went first? Does the scenario call for him to already have four dice in it? Sure he could 6-dice it with five 6s and a 5, but that seems unlikely considering the verbiage. The BatRep is very poor indeed.
It doesn't look optional for one or the other as far as loadout goes, just modeling. I think the staff-wielding Nagash has his sword at his side.Furthermore, if you model Nagash wielding his Mortis sword, does he still have use of his staff?
He does, but sword wielding nagash would look awkward with the staff on his back.It doesn't look optional for one or the other as far as loadout goes, just modeling. I think the staff-wielding Nagash has his sword at his side.
I don't like it for a few reasons:
1) A character riding a horse may have higher Initiative than an opposing character riding a dragon, but with combined stats, that essentially means that the horse is going before the dragon.
2) Instead of them giving different options, it would likely go to "If you want to take this character, this is the only way that you can." Especially if this is "The future of Warhammer," I see this as very likely. Granted, it makes CC much easier, but...
3) It means that it doesn't matter if you are on a horse or a dragon, which eliminates some of the key differences that would take place in a normal battle.
4)It means that you can't kill one without killing both. If a SGK is on a TG, and the TG gets killed, you still have the character, and vice versa; If they both die at the same time, it will be much more costly.
Probably. Maybe you could plant it in some rocks nearby on his base or having it floating around like his books. Or ejecting forward from his pelvis. I mean, it is somewhat phallic looking and I'm sure he would taunt his opponents in such a manner...He does, but sword wielding nagash would look awkward with the staff on his back.
It would make him far more sinister, floating towards your army chanting 'stiffy's gonna get ye, stiffy's gonna get ye'Probably.
