The Eternal Court of the Carmine Rose

Great work on her! The colors are very nice. My only bit of CC would be to add a slight highlight for her face on the highest points. It'll help draw the eye in. It could be the lighting in the pics though. Great work! Jake

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Thanks for the kind words! I had someone ask me why I haven't done much figure modeling as of late...it's because of a shoulder injury. I'm slowly getting more coordination back to the way it was before my injury. I was injury right in the shoulder's connective tissue and still have some...

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Hello everyone, After getting a great book for my birthday, I decided to take a different approach to my E-100. Why not something….frosty? So I stripped the tank down, took to the hairspray method and went to work. I applied a camo scheme seen a lot on the Eastern front as I wanted to...

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Good evening guys, It’s been a busy week, but here’s an update. The chips and weathering will be subdued with the pigments and others that I add to the tank. It's going to look well-used and poorly maintained in a '46-'47 environment if the Germans had held out a bit longer. As always, any...

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Good evening, Made some further progress tonight: I textured the side skirts, primed them and added them to the tank. I’m working on the long task of sanding all of the road wheels now. I’ll start coating the tracks tomorrow at some point. As always, C&C is appreciated. All the best, Jake

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Good evening guys, I finally finished all the assembly and fitting of the tank. I primed the tank in black and then did an overspray of grey to add some contrast before I begin painting. I’ll pop the turret off and paint it its appropriate colors. I’m leaving the wheels off for last so that...

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Good evening everyone, I made a little more progress tonight. I joined the top and bottom tonight and also added some photo-etch. I’ll add some further details tomorrow and try to improve some of the weld lines on the rear of the tank. Progress is coming slow, but it’ll be worth all the...

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Good evening all, I made some more progress tonight. I added some more texture to the turret and to the actual deck of the tank. It’s looking pretty good so far. I’ll add the further details tomorrow or the day after. I also made some progress with the Friul tracks by dipping them in...

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Good evening all, After completing a 1/35 Maus last year, I’ve decided to jump in and have a “go” at Trumpeter’s E-100. I’m planning on doing it in a city setting, Berlin actually, and will incorporate some soldiers around it. I mainly want to use both the tank and the soldiers to give a...

    reaper cthulhu as terrorgheist?

Haha, looks awesome, but he reminds me a lot of Nurgle as DoN said. The model is quite nice though. Is there a special theme for your army or are you going for him since he is a pretty badass model? You could kit bash and make some pretty nasty looking stuff with some 'Nid bits, LOTR models...

    Varghiest Conversion - need advice

Bret heads may be your best bet as you can offset the fleshy look with the steel helms they currently have. I think the ghoul heads idea would be spot on. You should be able to find some online actually quite easily. Put those on the bodies of the knights and you should be set. To add a...

    Orc blood

I'd go with an oily-black/brown for their blood. Could be pretty cool. All the best, Jake

    question: how to paint rust.

Also, if you want to "edging" of exposed metal, use some graphite on your finger and rub over the bit!

    question: how to paint rust.

As Johnny said. A good watery coat of red or orange/brown will do the trick. You can mix various colors in there to create some different effects for different stages of oxidation. All the best, Jake

Stuck's Vampire Counts plog UPDATE: Black Knights

RE: Stuck's Vampire Counts plog UPDATE: 6/3/2013 Wow! Great job bud! Your colors are very well put together and blend quite well together, yet they do pop on their own. I really, really, really like the ghouls. About how long does it take you to paint each figure? Keep up the great work...

    Santa's Workshop : NSFW Kharn

RE: Santa's Workshop : NSFW Maggot Nice! Your drybrushing has always been great. One thing that you could add to the beast is UHU Glue to make the slime stringing off of him. Looks great though! All the best, Jake

    Priming question

Johnny is spot on. You can prime with white and then do a dark base coat if need be. Jake

The Musketeer's Workbench: Back amongst the flowers...

RE: The Musketeer's Workbench Helllllllo panzer IV! I can't wait to see pics! Yes the oils do take a bit to dry but they are incredibly worth it. I've even moved to using some on figures now as the blending is so much easier. Can't wait to see pics bud! Jake

Redarmy’s Painting Thread 2.0 – Finished projects on Page 9!

Hey guys, I actually finished it just in time for the Nordicon 2012 contest in Plymouth, Minnesota. I was incredibly excited to have received a silver on it. The judges offered some great feedback and areas to improve on and the support from the fellow entrants was incredible. I makes me...
