Oh, the theme color I know! Was more trying to think if the vampy inside has green dress etc too but seems not x)

Sadly (or not), the vampire inside don't have dress (or cloths) :tongue:

First, here's the complete models, minus the horses eyes that I noticed after taking the pics. Will have to that later I guess!

As for the vampire inside, here's the best picture I could get;

Quite happy with how it turned out :)

Hope you like it!

It looks great! The colours fit really well together and it's pleasing to the eye, not mentioning how well it's painted. I am kinda unsure how to feel about the flames being the only blue elements here, but I think that they could just get lost in all the green if they would be also green, so its fine. The horses also fit well and I think that they look better than the originals.
The horses are marauder horses I presume? And what model is it for the lady inside?

I wasn't sure about the flames color, but they work pretty well in the flesh. And yes the horses are from the Marauder Horsemen, and the "vampire" is from Reaper, it's the sleeping beauty! Just shortened the bed's legs and it was a perfect fit inside!

Boy, great work on the coach! The Lady just regenerated completely from her latest death I guess ;) Very impressive, have my rep!

Thanks a lot! There's always more time for some beauty sleep, and in a vampire case, it might be a few more days/weeks/months or more :P

Looks great, really like the look of the Marauder horses. I probably would have gone with a more pallid skin tone for the vampire, but she still looks great. Did you airbrush the manes and tails?

That's a beautiful army, Mioum! Your painting of the ethereals is about the best I've seen. The fade from light to dark is top notch.

Some small work done on my army :)

First, I started the month by painting and updating my Dire Wolves. Finished those that were half-painted, and turned them into a unit of 10. Was missing a wolf, so I turned one into a filler to take two spot. Quite simple and boring to look at maybe, but I wanted a quick unit to paint this month, they were perfect for that!

And since I made their movement tray, I made them for the other units as well;

aimageshack.com_a_img706_8176_nya1.webp

So that's some more core done, wich is always nice to have :)

Then I spent time building more units, first one was my second unit of Hexwraith;

Now that make 10 models, wich I must say looks quite impressive/intimidating as a single unit;

And with the leftover knights bits, add some TK horses and bam!, free Black Knights! So I also have 10 Black Knights to go along;

I'm out of primer currently, so I'm limited in what I can paint right now, the next thing I'll do might be a unit of Skeletons since I have one primed already.

Whew, that's a lot of undead cavalry! Looking forward to seeing it painted!

Also, are those tomb king horses on the black knights? They look great! Way to get double mileage out of the boxes, tomb king horses are super cheap to pick up too. I used my BK/HW horses for BKs, and have been thinking about getting some TK horses for the HW bits... But I don't think they'll look as good as the TK horse/BK barding combo you have here. I think the barding on the horses is necessary for the HWs...

Well done!

This log is fantastic, your conversions are brilliantly put together, I'm definitely going to be stealing a few ideas, they all look so good ;)

Yep, regular TK horses. And yeah I used them for the Knights because the built-in barding at least spice up the otherwise naked/boring horses. That help make both unit looks good!

@RarerMonsters; Thanks, feel free to steal what you want :P

I started painting a Skeletons unit, the plan is to get it done by the end of the month!

Those are my Skeletons that are coming out of the ground (with or without help!), so I'm painting them darker, dirtier and rusty, wich is fun and goes relatively quick!

I made 2 batch of 10 so far, and working on another 10. With 48 models total in the unit, I'm about halfway there :)

Here's the two batch done so far (I'll put grass at the end);

Great work with those characterful skeletons! I'm curious to see how they'll look when they're finished ;)

And the BK/HW deal - nice stuff! And you showed me how the TK horses are in relation to the BK horses - it saved me from buying Gamezone skeleton horse for my wight king conversion xD I'll search for some TK horses first!

And I like the dire wolves - nicely and neatly done! A plus for differentiating between the units ;]

Can I ask, what IS a Lahmian army? I don't really understand the different themes.
Did you follow a particular tutorial for your skeletons? Inspirational stuff! Can't wait to get my own army put together.

A Lahmian army is a theme with self-imposed restriction, based usually on the old VC bloodlines list found in the 6th edition army book. It's usually comprised of only "dry" undead, things like Skeleton and Grave Guards, and where "wet" undead (like Zombies and Ghouls) is not allowed. Also the character are all, or mostly, female vampire, and in my case I also extend the theme through the gears and powers I give my Vampires. For example I always give a Vampire the Quickblood power as it was an old Lahmian-only power in 6th, and include Beguile when point permit it. I also stay away from powers like Red Fury and Dread Knight.

Of course, you can bend those limitation if you want. For example I've included some Ghouls and Zombies in my army, with appropriate fluff and conversion. For the Zombies, I'll paint them ethereal so they'll be lesser spirit instead of messy Zombies. For the Ghouls I've made some heavy conversion of female thrall that represent the Lahmian female servants and agents, not-quite-vampire ladies from towns and cities that work for the Vampires and used to infiltrate the surrounding society. My Blood Knights are converted to be fallen Empire Heroes, and represent the "Swain" heroes from the 6th edition Lahmian list.

Hope that help a bit :D

And for the Skeletons, they were simply painted bleached bones (instead of white) before washing them with agrax earthshade, since this unit is a bit dirtier than usual. For those still rising from the ground, a wash of bubonic was done before the regular wash to make them even more dirtier.

Lovely <3 You've created my skeleton dream :) Its like the army of darkness skellie recruiting scene :D (and I didn't find the scene on youtube :( ) brilliant work ;)

Exactly what I had in mind when making them too :D Not to copy the scene specifically, but the feel of it. That's why I love those slightly silly models on the 40mm bases, they have a more light-hearted feel to them like in the movie!

The one thing missing the most for my army right now is painted characters, so I did one today! He was pretty fast to do, took about 5-6 hours.

This is the only male Vampire in my army, because I liked the model :p I did him first because I wanted to try some colors before doing some pretty ladies, like the skin, and so he was my guinea pig :p

Not the best picture of him but that'll have to do for now;

ai1255.photobucket.com_albums_hh631_Mioumboy_VC_20Log_VCLog068_zpsbaba5737.webp

I didn't wanted to have an all green cape on him, so I went with half black, half green, so he at lest have some green on him to match the army.

I'll probably do more characters in the following days, I have about 4 more ready so that might be what I work on for now.

Your skeleton unit looks really great, an excellent lesson in what you can do with dioramas to make a unit look really interesting. I have ten spaces left in my skeleton unit -- I definitely am going to have to come up with some interesting multi-base ideas, because this is just really cool.

And, that is an awesome mini, and well painted too. I love your shading on his cloak.

Thanks for the advice,

No wonder I was confused given that there's not much mention of the varying themes in the 8th Ed book! But I too am looking for a skeleton look lead by a female Vampire, maybe I was Lahmian at heart without realising it :D

That is one fantastic mini, the skin and shading on the clothes are excellent.
I particularly like the washed out skin tone.
