Hello!

I'm very new to Warhammer Fantasy, but I've been playing 40k for awhile now. Thought I'd give 40k a break and head to the Fantasy side! I'm a huge fan of the undead scene (even in WoW I play undead and I even try in D&D)!

Hi friends! My names is Abraham and i live in the city of USA name New York, Can any one tell me interesting thing about this forum, thanks in advance.

Im Peter, and i'm from Poland. After a long time toying with different armies and models from WH:FB and 40k I finally settled on vampires with my brother, currently getting our army ready for polish edition of Fang :D

Hello! My name is JesterBird! (Real name is Jesper).
And I collect Vampire Counts for a year now. Before I had those annoying plague rats Skavens but now I have Counts. I play more on terror way. Not so much vampire way. I have Vlad von Carstein, Isabella Von Carstein, Varghulf, 6 crypt horrors, 20 ghouls, dire wolves, hexwraiths, corpse cart, MORTIS ENGINE, Cairn Wraith, Necromancer... stuff like that. Now I'm deciding between Zombie Dragon and TerrorGheist.
HELLO EVERYONE!!!

Hey all,

I've been in fantasy since 5th Ed, I was playing dwarfs throughout all of 6th and 7th then when 8th rolled around I figured I would give the stunties a break. I picked up VC for a 3000pt GT in my city, got them fully painted and based, played 2 games with them before the GT (lost both) then I went 0-5 at the GT itself, bringing up the rear! about 2 months after that one of my buddies from the local GW got into some financial trouble and I bought his vamps off of him and now I'm sitting on about 9,000 points. I just won my first game with them last night against WoC after about 15 losses. I've been reading a lot of the posts on here and realized that everything I was doing was wrong! So here I am, attempting to fulfill my need for knowledge and victory. Due to my history I know very little about magic (which appears to be a strong suit of the vamps) and very little about moving more that 6 inches a turn. So that's my history!

Thanks for all of the help that I've already received and all of the help I will receive in the years to come!

Hello Everybody,

I arise as fresh meat in the ranks of Vampire Counts. After playing 40k about 10 years ago, when I was still a child, I've run into an old friend who convinced me to play Mordheim, because of the low model count, so it was easy to jump in. Of course after painting a few models and playing a few games, I was hooked again, and decided to join the others in their warhammer battles as well. And my only army could be Vampire Counts after a secret love for them back in the days when I still read the White Dwarf 10 years ago.
So I made a basic model list of what I needed,.... a lot of models and a lot of cash apparently! That tempered my enthusiasm quite a bit, not being used to Games Workshop prices while living in the real world :-). They told me about Mantic models, but even then it would be a huge investment and I didn't like the models to much.

But lucky for me I found an awesome deal to buy the following second hand, almost everything unpainted and assembled in a neat way, only 40 skeletons and a Varghulf and some Carn Wraiths were painted, very well painted, although not really my style, but I can repaint them if I wish.

So I managed to buy this for only 250 Euros

1x Vampire
1x Mounted Vampire
Blood dragon mntd. lance
Blood dragon on absyl terror
Mounted wight king
2x necromancer with staff
4x cairn wraith (pro painted)
2x tomb banshee (unpainted)
strigoy ghoul king (unpainted)
60x zombies
50x ghouls
80x skeletons
4x corpse cart
6x black knights
20x grave guard
8x fell bats
5x converted spirithosts
4x bat swarms
5x hexwraiths
mortis engine
terrorgheist
vhargulf (pro painted)
black coach

I've played my first game yesterday 1000 pts. defeating an experienced Empire player, while only losing one Skeleton and one Zombie.... and my hero vampire after a last turn Challenge vs a Witchhunter, he completely failed to hit, and was chopped down by his great weapon, bummer.
All by all, glad they played just as I imagined and I've only tried one approach this time, much more to experiment with!

Glad to be on Board!

Hi all. I am new to WFB. I have been a long time 40k player, and I am finally making the move to Fantasy. Any way After reading the back stories for all the different armies and glancing through the army books (knowing next to nothing about how WFB works), I, without any hesitation chose Vampire Counts as my choice of first army. I guess that would make me Count Von Eichelberger. So far my army consists of 20 Skeletons with Spears and command squad, 20 zombies with command (want tons more), a necromancer on a corpse cart, and a black coach. I also have 2 bases of bat swarms, 12 wolves, 10 ghouls, 5 questing bretonians, a necromancer on a horse, and a necromancer on foot that need to be converted and or painted. I came here because I am needing some help on how I should proceed for collecting a good force and some tactical tips for playing games. I have not played any fantasy yet but I don't think the transition will be to hard. I look forward to learning the black arts from all you ancients who received the Blood Kiss before me.:grave:

Hello Everybody,

I first got into the hobby when I saw a commercial for Battlemasters on TV in the early 90s. I played 2nd Ed 40K (Spacewolves), Epic, Spacehulk, WHFB(5th) until 1998. Took the next 13 years off for college and work and then picked up WHFB again in 2011. I am in the northeast US and mostly play in local tournaments and the occasional GT with the Unplugged Gamers.

Hello!

I'm KoJ and I recently picked up the Nagash book series and it sparked my interest in Warhammer Again. It's been a long time and I'm just getting my feet wet with the new Army book. Looks like a lot has changed since I played. Anyhow I look forward to getting to know you guys and swapping tactics/strategies about my favorite undead

Greetings all,
I'm a long time Dark Elf player, with a short excursion playing Lizardmen, but have been playing them for 4 years. Decided to build a new army and after some research now I’m playing VC. I’ve been working on a Army since Nov and played 5 game won one lost four. I have clearly have a long way to go… a real different style of play.

Hi, I'm Lillith.
I'm basically brand new to Warhammer. I love role-playing, which I'm also pretty new to.
What's the best way to learn more about Warhammer? I'm really looking forward to finding out about it.
Can't wait to get to know some people. :)

Hey Lillith,

best way to learn about the warhammer background is online really, unless you're willing to spend £100+ on every army book :clown:

You'll always find me in theatre de vampyre, the role play section of this website, so i hope you join in with us, we really need some newcomers

oh and don't mind DoN or the refulars, quite a lot of us are fake pervy, I'm just bat sh*t crazy.

hey everyone I'm David and I've been playing warhammer for around 5 years now, was into it as a kid but never had the cash to play so when I met some friends of friends who played I kinda got hooked and went all in. I've got too many armies now and don't find the time to play as much as I used to and should but I still enjoy painting and playing when I get the chance.

Welcome David! Hope you have fun! I've only been a member here for about a month and I feel like I know a heck of a lot more now than I did when I first started. Just explore, Read, and chime in now and again! You'll pick up a lot really fast.

Hi,

I'm couqonfeis and I play VC in my little gaming group in Lund southern Sweden.

Long time lurker, but I'm playing so much these days that I thought I'd introduce myself.

See you in the threads, have a nice day!

Greetings everyone. New blood, entering this little ring of darkness.

I am a longtime Warhammer 40k player, and have only recently taken to Warhammer Fantasy. However, I have long been a fan of Warhammer fiction, and I happily include books like the Ulrika Trilogy, and the Vampire Wars.

As such, I am probably going to be much more of a fluff-discussion kind of person, and not so much on the rules side of things. I will probably also be hopping into an RP at some point (any suggestions?).

Just to get this out of the way, I am a total Blood Dragon fanboy. I make no apologies for that! ;)

However, Vampires in general are just flat out fascinating, especially the lore set down in Warhammer. Not like SOME "vampires" that are popular these days.

Anyway, hope to have a blast with you all, and it is nice to meet you!

Hi there;

I'm keldrim french player of warhammer (battle and 40k) since... well, let´s say that in those ascient times; magic rules came in a separate box.

I was exhuming some models from the depts of my garage and thinking of comming back to gaming life ( work and preservation of the human race madré me quit for suite a while); when the idea of browsing the web struck me.
And here am I ( strugling with the internal French dictionary if my phone )after a few days of lurking...

Hey all my names rimmer as the last names rimington and that people at the gaming club just gave me the name :) well im new to vamps and gotta say after reading the background and the rules these guys rock they suit my play style to the last detail.

so the reason ive come here is to learn some good lists as i play vs some VERY high end lists against very skilled players.

so i hate forums purely cause they confuse the living hell out of me lol but im giving this one a go and yea thats me glad to be here :)

Well, hello, rimmer! If you're here to learn about lists, or anything gameplay related, I would of course suggest the To War! section, which is split to help you discuss specifically what you want to.

If you want anything more background related, the Chronicles of Death, or more specifically, the Liber Mortis section contained therewithin, has plenty of regular visitors who will be glad to help you.

And, for all off-topic discussion, there is of course the section I moderate, the Council of the Night! Feel free to pop by, and if you need anything, don't hesitate to PM any moderator or True Blood; we'll help point you in the right direction!

Well met!

I am Lord Xcapobl. This hobby has been with me for well over 25 years now, though I mainly started with Warhammer 40K (I have a store-bought copy of Warhammer 40.000 Rogue Trader).

When the latest Vampire Counts army book was released, I got into collecting them, with the crowning achievement being my girlfriend getting me a Coven Throne for my birthday. Of course, with a very large amount of Plague Marines taking up most of my spare painting time, I have yet top apply any paint or primer to my Vampire Counts army.

Searching for a couple of ideas and tutorials led me here.

Hi !

I'm a 34yo swedish guy who likes painting, 40k, board games, pc games and cats o_O. I work as an 2d/3d artist at a game studio.
I got a thing for zombies..so VC was an obvious choice when i started with warhammer. Going to play a campaign at work.
Looking forward to learn tactics from all the veterans here at carpe noctem. Even though I've played warhammer before I'm a total noob with vampires.

Please excuse any bad spelling or grammar.
