See! You don't need to carry mace, or other such self protection nonsense, your own shirt of mail is much better and so much cooler.

That looks great Seth and I'm not sure if this is insulting to you or not (not meant to be), but you look like a viking who is getting ready to beat ten tons of crap out of someone. xd

So how much would it cost me to get my very own mail shirt off you?

Too much. I am sure that you could find cheaper on your own. There are full riveted maille haubergeons coming out of India that cost less than my materials alone. This one for example has cost me $260. (I bought some really nice square section, stainless steel rings).

Yes, but those are cookie-cutter stamp-outs mass-produced for armor fans with no money. If you want it original, handmade (and to actually fit), get it commissioned specifically for you.
I had this conversation with some guys the other day...
xD

Actually I wasn't talking to you. You are in the US.

But for the UK it would be impossible to tailor it to the customer and expensive to ship. Maillers are rare in England. I think when I moved to America, England lost 33.3% of it's maille armourer population.

American customers are different. If you are close enough to get to me for a couple of hours or so once a week for three weeks then I can whip you something up. Here in North America though there is a lot of competition.

But anyway... This is not The Ringlord Forum so I will return to the subject at hand.

.....But I haven't picked up a paintbrush in a month....

So I will just go away now.........

Awww, I might have to go for a 3 week holiday in the US then xd

Anyway, I hope you manage to find time to pick up that paintbrush soon and provide with some more great updates.

More traditional methods.

I have been making maille for 13 years now. Both as a hobby and occasionally as a profession. This piece is made of tiny wire that I use to make jewellery pieces. But for the most part I am an armour smith, using much thicker wire cut into much bigger rings.

You are my new god. *bows and grovels*

grovels as well

making armour as a profession
that has to rock
it must be frustrating at times working on all the small rings but it has its upsides too

anything new on the model front or is it all mail and no paintbrush?

(taking deep breaths as his mind struggles too cope) One... Hundred... And... Eighty!

For some reason they felt inclined to throw in a free box of horsemen too. I am sure I will find an excellent use for them.

I am out to dinner with cute girls tonight, going to the beer garden to get trashitty trashed tomorrow and then donning my Sunday Best as I head out to the tuxedo Renaissance fair to end the weekend.

But Monday! Monday will see my triumphant return to my plog. I have many projects up in the air that really need to be completed. It's time to get my arse in gear.

I picked up a paintbrush for the first time in months just a couple of days ago. Here is a WIP tower:

He is the Dogs of War General.

I bought him years ago when he was still readily available. Then some runt stole him while at a games workshop store. So I had to ebay a new one. I now have 3 of them for the purpose of converting a nightmare, foot and zombie dragon version.

I just managed to get one off ebay for $20.
So many great old models that they have stopped to produce to give more space to the less detailed plastics :[
