  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
So the Rumoured releases are... The Book, Nagash, Arkhan, Neferata on a Undead Beast, Mannfred on a Nightgheist and a spirit host...

From those that's a major Wow for new models that go on my must have list... Nagash, Arkhan - Manticore Bone Chariot Oh Hells YEAH (Could be a duel kit with Aborash quiet easily he did fight at the head of Nagash's Armies 7 he was an earlier rumour)... Neferarta come on! The queen of the Vampires how cool and Mannfred on a Nightghiest (I would guess a duel kit again) is possibly the only of the big kits I would not be fussed about... Oh and the spirit host while useful its def something not in the MUST by category....

Are you kidding? The current spirit hosts are 2d6 years old and sorely need updating to keep up with the more recent releases. Probably the one model that needed updating the most (bat swarms, fell bats, Black Coach being the others).

Sorry I should have been clearer, I totally agree those models Suck Arse, they are just not at the top of MY must buy list as you can use almost any infantry painted as ghosts to create a thematic replacement. You are completely right, the range NEEDED them just I do not... :D

I would love rules for Nagash/Abhorash/Neferata, but am afraid balancing issues would make them a) so expensive they can't play in regular games (based on renditions of Abhorash seen on this forum, although that may be just wish-listing) or b) underpowered for their fluff. Though I would be interested to see what the rules are.

Omg! He's huge, no wonder he can take on a whole army by himself.
And if the spirit hosts look anything like the spirits coming from Nagash's robes, they'll look pretty awesome :)

I also hope the rumoured vampire models are good looking (and convertable). The VC could really use some decent character models ...

Oh my god! I have waited for a new playable Nagash since I started collecting back in the mid 90's! The model is amazing but a bit too high fantasy for my taste, but I'll just chop him so that he is more minimalistic, should be easy enough. Damn, I did not see this coming, sometimes GW really just surprises me. Awesome.

Agreed but its 100000x better than the old one and he def looks EPIC...

Yeah it is indeed and it should be nice to convert. I am a bit fearful what they do with his rules. My thinking is this: I would like to play him in a 2500 points list, but that won't happen since he is basically a god and should be expensive. Hopefully he can be fielded in 3k then. I just really hope they don't make his rules like they did Mazdamundis (the most unusable special character of them all). He should be one of the best casters in the game but also a beast in combat which will make him VERY expensive. Being a monster (with that size?) he will get much attention by artillery, magic and shooting so he needs a good save, but that will make him even more expensive. But I have faith that they will make something great (fingers crossed).

We'll have to wait and see, my fear will be that he only will be fieldable in giant special senarios.. That would suck.. Can't wait for this release. damn.!

I doubt they would restrict people from using him in normal games- he would just be a fantasy style Lord of War, 40k 7th ed style.

and I wouldn't see him as having gotten bigger- the old model was from back when everything was tiny, because almost everything was made out of metal. Even dragons and greater daemons were much smaller than they should be.

Yes, he was once a mortal man, but he transcended his humanity and became a dark god- in the more recent fluff "undead" nagash is actually described as being pretty big. He is a magical being so his stature would change over time to match his power.

I really don't get why people are surprised at his size... as Sanai pointed out the old model was as big as the old dragons and also the artwork presented him as a towering giant over hordes of undead. BTW. Could someone please post up his old rules? I've unfortunately lost my old Undead Armybook.

EDIT: Shit I got ninjaed by his stat-block and rules! :D He looks insane but sadly cannot be fielded in normal warhammer :(

Old stats were almost identical but his rules have improved, he used to be able to store power, counted as a 5th level wizard, 4+unmod save, mortis +1 strength and heal himself.

I wouldn't rule out using him in normal warhammer yet- all it says is he can be used in an undead legions army list, which may well be as legal to use in normal warhammer as the Chaos Dwarves army list and etc.

I just wish his sword was better. He should track down Ennio Mordini and steal Skabscrath of him, and somehow upsize it.

Str8 and D3 wounds is not bad with 6 attacks, though he could do with the fury vampire power...

But against MI or MC he could really get some combat resolution going...
