Thanks guys, I'm still stunned how my own stuff looks when displayed like this. I'll ask him what camera and settings he use, hopefully I'll be able to translate :D

@Borgnine Thanks! I thought the skin tones would help with what are otherwise quite similar models. As for the board, I've not really done this before so quite simple I think. Probably some rocks and trees and things just to blend in with the bases and give a "temperate hilly" look. I've got more ambitious ideas for my other giant tribes (yes, I plan to do Frost and Fire and Stone giants, after this) but I hope to learn from doing something simpler first.

Gosh, was this the last thing I posted here? Not been hugely motivated this year, I've painted quite a lot for my 15mm SF project (mostly old Laserburn miniatures) and then been messing around with converting old diecast cars into combat vehicles for Gaslands. But this is probably my favourite thing in the last few months:

so many sweet memories...

BTW, lately I've committed myself to build a lot of terrains (40K). Even if they are not VC related, i suppose i can post them here. Or maybe create my own thread for all of them...
I do believe that as long as this site is being used, it's all for good. ;)

Agreed, it's nice to see what our members are working on regardless of whether it's undead or not.

I've mostly been spitting my time equally between my VC army and my Greenskins, and am quite happy about the steady progress I've been keeping thus far.

Things on the painting table? VC: Winged Vamp conversion, O&G: Three fillers for my NG expansion.
Things being working on? VC: Crypt Horrors, O&G: More fillers. Also assembling some cavalry.
Other odds and ends? Also spending some time on painting some KT scenery.

This has also reminded me that I need to rebuild my 15mm SF thread on a functional website one day...

I've also been having a huge sort out of my hobby space (including more shelves and sorting out all my bits) amongst other things - catalogued my vinyl collection, currently sorting through all my band t-shirts - just lots and lots of tidying. Maybe some more projects will appear from it :)

I will post something asap. ;)

In the meantime, staying on "undead", the new necrons models are pretty cool. It's nice for once to diverge from the usual boring imperium vs chaos. The last time when a new edition focused on xenos was 5th ed. if i recall correctly

Working on hammering out some zambos here lately, amongst organizing my bits and selling off my other lines. I'll get a thread up before too long, but I'd like to do a stage by stage post alongside some of the finished product.

Wanting to master some of my painting skills before I move on to the big boys in my force.

Aye! I've seen them, and was wondering if I might throw my hat in the ring. Knowing my luck I figured I might necropost on a contest that's no longer going, but I'll see about getting some of my zambos in!

Gosh, I haven't been on here for ages! Not so much hobbying going on as I might hope, despite having my whole social life shut down by the virus, my modelling has slowed down if anything.

My current ongoing project is the second in my series of D&D inpires Giant Tribes using Reaper Bones giants. I went for Stone Giants and it has all got out of hand...

Hello everyone, not been here for ages or painted anything remotely relevant for a while. I am involved in the Old World Army Challenge (Part IV) where I am painting old Lizardmen, if anyone wants to take a look. There's some lovely armies on the go there, including some nice undead. OWAC IV - Karnac Returns!

Undead! Just a few, and not for my VC project. Still Undead though!

These are Dwarf Skeletons from Midlam Minitures. They are pretty small (cos, Dwarves) but nicely detailed. They came naked except for weapons - I've added the shields and the tatty bits of clothing.

Metal castings, so I could easily repose them a little to make them less repetitive. Pleased with the models and would definitely consider more from the range for other projects

I am currently 'de-AoS-ifying' the brand new GW zombies by getting rid of the weird roots and branches growing through them. There is likely some story why they have such roots and branches growing through them, but I want them to fit my 8th Ed campaign world better.

These first 9 just had the roots and branches removed, including some very large growths out of one shoulder …

The middle one of the next three came with NO hands and only one foot. It had the weird roots instead. So, I cut them off, replaced a hand and a foot from the sprue and my bits box, leaving one hand missing as a suitably zombie-ish injury.

SatVVK4.jpg

The box of 20 cost me £37 (!!!) so I intend to squeeze everything I can out of it. These three have legs from my bits box (two skeletons I forget the make of and some baggy breeches from a Frostgrave Ghost Archipeligo seaman). They'll do for back rankers, yes?

fV3Jx2G.jpg

Still got most of the other sprue to do and should end up with a regiment of 26. I will combine (hopefully) with the Black Tree Designs’ marsh zombies to bulk up further. I have ordered the latter but until I see them I won’t really know if they will fit in (with a similar paint job).
